I remember seeing these in the language room in middle school. Like 7th grade-ish. But I took Spanish, so I never read any.

The names of some of the characters cracks me up.

A druid named "Getafix"

The village cheif is "Vitalstatistix"

Cool! We had all the Tintin books too. My mom picked up a fresh set a while back for the grandkids..

I actually have Asterix figurines that i got when in germany out of the chocolate suprize Kinder Eggs. Had to buy a ton of them things to get the actual Asterix figs. =)

My father-in-law is a huge Asterix fan, and is (re)learning Latin. I found a few Asterix books in Latin that were published in the 70's. It was kind of a pain finding and getting copies from overseas, but it was worth it. Some of the jokes are actually funnier in Latin. (They come with a translation sheet for people who don't read Latin)
