Msterbeau Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 A French comic I grew up with. Some stuff is funny as hell... :laughing I was thinking about it tonight and thought I'd see if anyone here is familiar with it. Official site: http://gb.asterix.com/index.html
Guest Game of Chance Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 I remember seeing these in the language room in middle school. Like 7th grade-ish. But I took Spanish, so I never read any.
Msterbeau Posted September 20, 2005 Author Posted September 20, 2005 They came in English too... The names of some of the characters cracks me up. A druid named "Getafix" The village cheif is "Vitalstatistix" And on.... :laughing

Troy Spiral (13) Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 I actually have Asterix figurines that i got when in germany out of the chocolate suprize Kinder Eggs. Had to buy a ton of them things to get the actual Asterix figs. =)
cthulhu63 Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 My father-in-law is a huge Asterix fan, and is (re)learning Latin. I found a few Asterix books in Latin that were published in the 70's. It was kind of a pain finding and getting copies from overseas, but it was worth it. Some of the jokes are actually funnier in Latin. (They come with a translation sheet for people who don't read Latin)
