Iams cat food

My kitty is now 8 years old and we noticed she had been looking dangerously skinny. The vet said nothing's wrong but suggested we try a premium cat food. I'd never been able to get her to eat the fancy stuff. She only liked 9 lives salmon flavor, but I took a look at the Iams brand and found one that looked promising.

I got Iams Indoor Hairball Care for 7+ years. It's been a couple of weeks and man oh man is she a different cat now! She's gained weight and I don't feel like I'm going to break her when I pick her up. She just seems happier too and she runs for the bowl again when I pour the food in.

The cost is literally four times what the 9 lives is, but it's a very large bag and since I only have one cat it's probably a month's worth of food for her, so it won't be that big of a deal to buy.

I love that cat! She was a humane society rescue, the runt of the litter and had to get antibiotics. They didn't think she'd make it and tried to talk me into another cat but when I saw her beautiful black fur and evil green eyes I knew she had to be mine, hehe. She slept on my chest for a whole day the first day I brought her home because she was too sick to get around, but she ended up doing very well after that. She never grew to full size but she's a gorgeous kitty and a ferocious hunter of spiders and moths.

I'll post a new piccy later today.

Well for me personally, once I am attached to an animal no cost is too much to keep them alive.

And the pricey food does go so much further.....it is worth it. My cat has a sensetive stomach and got too low in wieght before I changed to Science diet...and yes I have to make a special trip to the store for him.

But he is so worth it. I have the worlds only known for sure, full out....full blown gay cat and we love him.

Yes my cat is gay.

I posted pics....and cannot wait too see your pussy too!

Did I just say that? :devil

Not the best piccy but she got tired of the bright light and won't come back! heh.post-4-1127224165_thumb.jpg

Isn't she the perfect Halloween cat? :)

OMG it looks like my mudgy boo! We have twin pusses! See? Everyone who meets my cat thinks he is female even....they have too look to make sure because they don't believe me. :cheerful

By the way....your cat looks very patriotic in this pic....

:) Where are your cat pics? I don't see them in your gallery.

I have always loved black cats and always adopt another when I lose one. I once read a study that the black pigment is genetically tied to intelligence and I don't doubt that. My black cats have always been really smart and good hunters.

I've had one since I was 5. I found a black kitten wandering around on Valentine's day, put it in the skirt of my dress like a hammock and carried her home and bless my momma, she let me keep her. We named her Valentine ;)

I don't buy Iams products because they conduct tests on dogs and cats, birds, rabbits and other animals, that leave the animals insane and/or mamed.

Oh great. Guess it's back to square one again. Wish my cat wasn't so picky!

My kitty is mean too, but I tend to *like* mean cats. Somehow overly friendly cats bug me. Maybe because I'm getting meaner too in my old age so she seems like a kindred spirit. ;)

She will let us pet her for a few minutes but then bites when she gets tired of it.

My cat will, treats excepted, only eat Iams cat food. She won't even go after people food. So, with Iams I shall have to stay.

my cat seems healthiest on Purina

My Kitties sure like Katzen-Flocken. It is organic Kitty food. I had to switch from it because my cats were getting HUGE!

Onyx - Wal-Mart came out with a copycat version of Iams a couple years ago. I had all my cats on Iams, and when I saw Wal-Mart's Maxx Nutrition, I bought a bag, took it home and did a side-by-side comparison of ingredients & nutritional value.

They were close enough for me to say they're almost identical. I switched to the Maxx Nutrition and haven't looked back since.

An 8 lb bag of the hairball control formula is $6.93. Compare that to what you're paying for Iams, and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

My cats are all healthy and robust. Their coats are shiny and full.

My only beef: it doesn't come in a bag bigger than 8 lbs. With 14 cats, I have to buy a bag EVERY week. I plan to write them about it.

**sits back and waits for the Wal-Mart boycotters to speak up** :wink

I used to feed my girl Iams, then I read about the testing they did on animals, and I switched to Maxx from Walmart as well. She loves the stuff and she is in good health!

Oh - Oakley is on it, too. He gets compliments on his form & coat all the time.

With better quality food, the animal has to eat less. So in the long run, it will last you longer and save money :)

I would never ever feed my dogs or cats IAMS, I hate that company with a passion.

Bwaahhaa!

Well, if I die and nobody finds me for a bit, I'm pretty sure my cat would look at me as a piece of meat and chow down.

How goth, for my flesh to be devoured by a black cat!

(gawd am I morbid or what)?

We only feed our cat Iams..the kind for mature cats with hairball control.

He coughs up hairballs alot less now and he use to be allergic to the kind he use to eat we figured. He had scabs on his skin. Since we switched to Iams he has been fine.

oh onyx your cat looks like my cat, Spooky

I mix up his food, he never really gets used to one brand, mostly because i cant afford to pay no outragous amount for just one fat cat that needs to lose weight anyways.

But he really likes Kit and Kaboodle. We used to be faithful to Dad's but then he started vomiting it up.

Right now, we had to buy a gigantic bag of Friskies since we're fostering 4 kittens, thier mother, and thier father comes by a few times a day. (anyone want an adorable 6 week old beige kitten?)
