Head Wreck Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 Just returned a CD i was lent by a collegue at work. WOW Green Carnation - Light of Day, Day of Darkness an nalbum with just one song, 60 minutes, 5 seconds long what i found with long songs, that although they can be verry good, they can drag on. not so with this. the song has a very opeth feel to it with variences in mood and musical style but it has its odd quirks in it. about 35-45 minutes in it takes a wierd break with female vocals just pushing her vocal range and volume regardles sof holding the note, veryy odd bit, but then its back into the catchiest section of the3 song reitterated. i really can play this whole song through without the "ah bugger it, cant be asked..." reach for the skip button (or in this case, the eject/change disk). i reconmend this strongly to opeth fans. i got another CD i have yet to listen to. i'll let you know how that goes
Paper Hearts Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 Thanks for the recommendation. Also, wondering, can you comment on a band called Milo, which comes from your neck of the woods? I've heard someone say they were good, but they didn't go into detail. i didn't have a chance to inquire, further, so I've been curious. The name stuck with me...and I know they're Welsh.
phee Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 opeth rocks... I will have to look into this...
