The_Dark Posted September 29, 2005 Posted September 29, 2005 Roberts was confirmed today with a vote of 78 to 22.
phee Posted September 29, 2005 Posted September 29, 2005 He didn't seem to bad... kind of evasive, but who wouldn't be?
The_Dark Posted September 29, 2005 Author Posted September 29, 2005 I have never seen anyone appointed to be a Federal judge that wasn't evasive during the process. They have to be. It's just no right for a Judge to make comments about specific cases without knowing the case.
Msterbeau Posted September 29, 2005 Posted September 29, 2005 Bleh. The real fight will be over who replaces O'Conner.
The_Dark Posted September 29, 2005 Author Posted September 29, 2005 Kinda depends on who is nominated.
phee Posted September 29, 2005 Posted September 29, 2005 Kinda depends on who is nominated. I think we know what kind he is likely express
The_Dark Posted September 29, 2005 Author Posted September 29, 2005 and you thought that same thing before Roberts was nominated.
Msterbeau Posted September 29, 2005 Posted September 29, 2005 and you thought that same thing before Roberts was nominated. Just because Roberts views are not well known, and his affiliations deliberately low-key and non-offensive , doesn't mean he's everyone's golden boy. He's still a conservative. The only reason a bigger fuss wasn't made is because he was replacing another conservative on the bench.
