My Poor Guy

My son has some type of infection and/or allergic reaction going on around his eye. The eye itself looks fine, but the tissue around it is terribly swollen. I can't tell you how many dirty looks I have gotten at the pharmacy, urgent care and another store. I would consider the idea myself, well if it weren't MY kid.

Oh my. That does look bad.

Just wait till he gets a real shiner from being hit by a baseball or something! Gawd, how embarassing that one was. I didn't want to leave the house.

aw poor guy. :(

one time my mom was watching my son, babysitting him.

and he fell down her stairs. he got the worst, i mean WORST black eye and bump. it was horrible. he looked beaten and then some. i got the worst looks ever in my life. i mean, the total stare down. i only went out when necessary at that point. i actually would look at people and feel i should SAY something to them because of how they looked at me. :( never felt so bad in my life for something i didn't even do!!

That sucks. Sick children with unknown illnesses are a parent's nightmare.

Poor Zack.. have any doctors told you what it might be?

Probably some type of contact allergy. Going to the regular doc Friday AM.

Ohhhhhhh poor guy, does it hurt him or anything? Does he think its "cool" or a royal pain?

When i was younger i was in girl scouts, we had a camp out on a beach some place, and wehn i woke in the morning i was all swollen and beat up looking. I did not realize anything was wrong i felt fine, untill another woke up and started to freak. They figured i was bitten by something, called my mom n she took me to the doc, they gave me the 7 day step down steriods and some other stuff i dont remeber. It has never happened since, but then agian i have never slept on a beach at night since then either.

I dont know what to say about people n the looks i have gotten them too befor, my kids all have had terriable times with two left feet that dont know hwo to work together and falls and my daughter who was on Heavy Blood thinners for 2 years would bruise up just thinking about a fall. I cringed every time she she would hit her head, even the slightest bump would bruise her and people allways looked at me. I soo wanted to hide some times and then other time i wanted just to sock em in the face and tell em not to be damn judgmental.

Luckily, if i remebr correctly, it only took about a day and ahlf after i started the steriods and other meds for the swelling to go away. I would think this would be less noticable if it were not for the swelling.

Gawd that does look painful.

My stepson used to hurt his face on a regular basis.....baseball.......football.....basket ball.......I know how you feel mom.

He broke his nose once on a door......once on a ball......everyone thought we kicked his poor wee little ass.

But I still let him play.
