ahh yes, but can you say Superman? Superman is manly. Well except for when they made Christopher look like a well manicured pretty boy in tights.. He was more manly in his civilian clothing.

Super is ok when another word follows i.e. superman - supernova, just never say it with a lisp. That would be bad.

Fabulous is very much a "straight" word, when used as sarcasm. For example...

Your spouse wrecks the car and comes in to tell you about it. You go outside, look at the damage, and say: "Fucking fabulous! You know? It's just SUPER the way the bumper wrapped around that tree!"
