Did I ever tell The DGN collective about how My daughters school tried to ban Witch costumes last year because some may find them offensive?

Well I went to the school to protest.

I spoke to the principal in front of PTO members.

I started off by saying that years ago I was offended by the modern version of the Witch but have since learned to forgive and even laugh at it but as far as Im concerned NO Christian has the right to be offended by it and in fact should feel shame for what has been done to pagans in the name of Christ. But Im not going to go into that what hurt me was when Tytianna ( this is where strong stern me broke down and started crying ) who is being raised christian asked me why she couldn't dress like me it broke my heart.

Well I couldn't finish what I was going to say but I didn't need to.

The ban was retracted and I got an apology.

Honestly I wish now that I could have just let it drop but then again I don't.

I know that sounds like a oxymoron but one of the biggest problems with this world is "offense".

'But did you consider that your attempt might offend the such and such's?'

Until we stop taking offense to stupid shit like religion, this world will be a shit hole.

I agree and I also would like to add that stupidity is our biggest enemy. Until the human race gets over it's collective stupidity we're going to keep doing harm to ourselves.

Well what exactly is a witch like most of your family?

Do they believe that all god/goddess are different aspects of "The Everything"?

Do they identify primarily with war hunting and death aspects?

Do they believe that Men "are not" inferior to women?

The biggest one "We are all dead and in hell and our goal is to ascend and live once again."

I can only speak for myself on this one and it is yes. That we will return to a place called 'summerland' upon our death and this is but an illusion and the lowest plane.

It is what is in the the soul...the bottom of the heart. Motives, and self-awareness, actions, and how we interact and treat others. Having respect for a higher being, or power and/or mother earth. Acknoledgement of our insignificance.

then again, evilis relative as well, so... how about nobody take offense at anything!? after all, the thing itself doesn't offend you, your own reaction to it does, and it's completely within your power to *not* be offended, if you so choose...
