ManicQueen Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 At work the other day, I noticed a sticker on the back of a truck. It read, "ChristianGoth.com." Nuff said. Check it out. :laughing I just thought it was kinda funny. Not making fun of any Christians here... it's just that I've never heard of anything like this.
Lilith Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 yeah i pointed that site out in another thread, there are actually many christian Goth websites.... Many pastors, ministers etc... have children that are of an age that they want there own identy and i think this is how many of the sites came about, i have heard many people tell OH go to this church no one will mind your hair cloths etc... the minister daughter has XXXXXX HAir right now and this one is doing this with her hair etc...... I think it is postive hoepfully people will see that yes some in the goth scene are bad just like any other scene but most of us are normal people with normal lives, allot of us christians ( i tend to think goth christians are more CHRISTIAN then allot of "normal" Christians) we are just more creative.
Brenda Starrr Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 We have a Christian service for goths here as well. I haven't gone yet, but I've been emailing back and forth with the man who runs it.
Ginevra Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 Playing the devil's advocate here . . . . My father would say that there's no way to coorelate the two ways of being Christian and Goth. You're either one or the other (although, to him, there is no such thing as "Goth". If you wear all black, wear your makeup dark and have dark nail polish, then you're just a bad person, period.) In his mind, the music that's played is evil because it doesn't speak of God and often speaks of suicide, horror, death, and other dark things. This goes against the natural grain of humanity and such is an abomination. (Please remember that these are HIS opinions and not mine.) Anything that doesn't further the glory of God is bad and therefore should be shunned. He and Mom are the ones that used to tell me that bars are only open at night and most have no windows because people are ashamed of the sin they are committing by going to a bar and want to cover it up. Another reason that you can't possibly be Goth and Christian at the same time. Unless you're doing "undercover work" at a club, good Christians should not be at a bar because it's a sin filled place.
Head Wreck Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 presbitarians then ginny. i have grandpearents who are like that. lets just say dessie combats and plain white tee is worn if i'm fixing thier things
Ginevra Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 presbitarians then ginny. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually, no HW, they're hardcore Methodist.

Homicidalheathen Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 $$ is a christian goth. I hope he notices this thread.
SomeDanGuy Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 I don't think it's a contradiction, just........not very common.
Shade Everdark Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 There is nothing about goth that directly conflicts with being a Christian. As far as I know about real Christianity, there is nothing there that says you can't be goth because it is sinful.
The_Dark Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 I have to agree... I dont remember anything about required attire and music taste in the Bible.
Vater Araignee Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 I have to agree... I dont remember anything about required attire and music taste in the Bible. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Or the color black and I wont even go in to how goth a catholic priest looks because somebody will say how evil those child molesters are and I'll end up feeling obligated to say something about not wasting apples because of a couple of rotten ones bla bla bla
