saechalyn Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 Damn. Another one? Okay here's a question. Do you think this administration is actually more corrupt, or are they just getting caught more?
phee Posted October 28, 2005 Author Posted October 28, 2005 Damn. Another one? Okay here's a question. Do you think this administration is actually more corrupt, or are they just getting caught more? That is a great question! I think that they are about as corrupt as any other actually, I just think that they are more arrogent than any other administration in recent history. Other administrations had the smarts to try to cover their tracks a bit better. They knew what they were doing was wrong and tried to cover it up. Where as this administration seems to simply think that they are above obeying the countries laws.

SomeDanGuy Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 More?? I think there are taking less flak than they should for all the bungles made and lack of accountability
phee Posted October 28, 2005 Author Posted October 28, 2005 More?? I think there are taking less flak than they should for all the bungles made and lack of accountability Here here!!!! It is sad, but what makes a good politician and a good leader are so very different from one another... In this case I don't think the Bush Administration is illustrating skills in either capacity... I by no means think that Clinton was a good leader, but he seemed to be good at Politics (ie, if we was skrewing up, the world still seemed to like him OK for the most part, and he at least tried to save face every once in a while) Where as here they just well.... seem almost totally oblivious to those they hurt until it catchus up with them... I can't remember the last good leader/politician that was president... most of the time they seem to cancel each other out.
Blackmail Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 Well if comparing Clinton and Bush in terms of corrupt connections, it's about equal. Remember Clinton's pals that got in trouble: Dick Morris, Jim Guy Tucker, Jim and Sharon Mcdougle to name a few. I also wouldn't say that the Clinton administration was less arrogant, remember the Sudan bombings? I hope all the corrupt people from the Bush administration go to prison.

That would be pretty much all of them. A distinction I would make between the Clinton administration stuff and Bush's is that the latter's are of a much more serious nature. Outing a CIA field agent is a good way to get them killed. Lying about the reasons to go to Iraq has gotten plenty killed. And Clinton did what? Oh!. He almost had sex!! Horrifying. :blink :erm :fear

Not to mention the Yugoslav imbroglio (which I agree with but many humanitarians didn't) or the Haiti intervention. Some people's views of Clinton are way off. and by the way msterbeau, that was hardly the only few people connected with President Clinton to get in trouble with the law, Clinton freakin pardoned Mark Rich for one.
