Ambitious kid!

==================

HILLSDALE, Mich. The new mayor of Hillsdale is an 18-year-old high school student.

Michael Sessions was 17 and too young to get on the ballot in the spring. But two days after he turned 18 in September, he started a write-in campaign.

Yesterday, voters in the city of 82-hundred residents gave Sessions an unofficial 732 votes to 668 for the 51-year-old incumbent mayor, Doug Ingles.

Sessions lives with his parents and 13-year-old sister. He used 700-dollars from a summer job to fund his race.

My sister lives in Hillsdale County.

I have to e-mail her and find out what they're saying about this.

I think it's pretty cool.

Tell us what you find out! I was wondering about that.

I wonder if he is going to run the town and go to school pat time?? If there are any colleges close by. I'm not sure where this town is, could be in the middle of nowhere. Anyway, I'm courious about his future plans.

I don't understand the 'culture of youth' that has grown up in this country.

I wish him all the best, and it may be a breath of fresh air that the people in that town need, or just a good laugh, but youth simply does not solve all problems. I can tell you now that this kid almost certainly lacks the life experience necessary to run even a small town of what? 8,500? Has he ever really even had to balance a checkbook?

There is good reason that the Constitution restricts the office of the presidency to those over the age of 35. That said, I wish the kid the best of luck. At the very least, it will look impressive on his resume.
