I never understood Texas Hold 'Em. I guess I was raised old fashioned. In the immortal words of TV's Brett Maverick, "If it ain't straight poker (either 5 card stud or 5 card draw) then it ain't poker." That means no wilds, no antes, no variants. Just straight up poker the way Hoyle and God intended.

You're still making the best 5 card hand, but rather than having 5 of your own cards, you are dealt your own 2 "hole" cards and match those with 5 community cards that are laid on the board...

Sounds complicated. but it's addictive... for me at least.
