What is the easiest place to get a credit card from with mediocre credit (my score is between 580 and 620)? Thanks.

Isn't it BankOne that has a secured card? You pay something up front, and then that's held a collateral against you making your payments.

Not sure if that's the right company. And I think the deposit is something like $200.

Credit Unions might be more accomodating than banks.

Good luck. We don't use credit cards anymore - we strictly use debit cards, and it helps us keep ourselves in check.

I suggest Discover, i was in your shoes once and they helped me out greatly. I suggested this to a freind not long ago as well and they accepted him as well. Good luck and hope this helps a bit.

The secured cards are not a scam - they actually do help rebuild your credit if you are careful to make your payments on time.

Get a Visa/MasterCard check card. Works the same as a credit card and wont put you in debt.

You can still make on line purchases, make hotel resurvations and rent a car.
