Fierce Critter

I managed to track down a local group that has a program for inexpensive spays/neuters. They're out of Toledo, Ohio, but my contact through them met me in Monroe today to pick up Calder, our only fertile male, and Tiki, the female he might have knocked-up last week. I'll be picking them up tomorrow at the same place we met today.

And they're going one better for me, because of the situation I ended up with having to keep all these fosters who were supposed to be adopted out. They're doing all my intact cats for $10 for the male, and $20 each for the 4 females.

Their regular rates (easily half or less than half of what I've paid vets in the past):

Female cat $40.00

Male cat $30.00

Vaccinations: FVRCP $8.00 and Rabies $18.00

(Must get both shots to receive discount)

Female dog under 50 pounds $53.00

51- 75 pounds $59.00

76- 100 $73.00

100 and over $80.00

Male dog under 50 pounds $40.00

51-100 pounds $45.00

100 and over $53.00

Heartworm test $27.00, Vaccinations: DHLP & Parvo $12.00, Rabies $18.00, Bordatella $18.00 (must get two out of the three shots to receive discount)

If you would like their information, let me know and I'll post it here.

IMPORTANT!

When you call to make your appointment, you MUST mention that it is through Alliance for Spay-Neuter and Pet Rescue and that services will be paid with a voucher. It is very important that you keep your appointment. When you do not appear for your set appointment, you deprive another animal from using that time slot and it could be weeks before you get another appointment. There is no discount given for grooming; but this service is still very reasonable so ask about prices when you call.

By offering affordable spay/neuter rates, we hope to keep the over population of pets under control. Both females and males (dog or cat) will benefit by being spayed/neutered because it modifies behavioral problems such as spraying, roaming and fighting. Pets can’t practice birth control; their fate is in your hands.

** Did you know? Female cats reach sexual maturity between 6 and 10 months. In seven years, a female cat and her offspring could theoretically produce 420,000 cats!
