I hope that Ted knows that by falsely accusing mods, whether in jest or not, just adds to the idea of the the Moderators being  thought police - post nazis. And it is not funny.

Lack of sense of humor by the mods is one of the main complaints of DGNers. You can complain and bitch all you want and edit my posts. I'm not changing. So either ban me or get a sense of humor. Which is it going to be?

i thought one of the main complaints was that we got rid of "phish phry phridays"

Well, the right wing facsist must have been you.  Only Troy has the ability, if at all, to edit a post in the way that it was.  If I edit a post, it shows at the bottom that it was edited by me. (And I will edit this post when I'm done with it to illustrate.)

So, it really is here or there.  No one on the DGN staff edited you.

Edit- for the edit

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I'll edit this first part out because it mentions something that happened in the moderator forum. But.....

So like I said, I am going to continue to post what I want, none of anything I post has bad intentions or is meant as disrespect towards anyone. It is obvious to most that saying the mods edited my post was satire......if you don't see it that way then perhaps you need to rethink the way you read posts.

I also find it ammusing that some mods are asking me not to say X and X because they don't want to be viewed as "thought police" yet they are policing this thread.

Irony.

no no dark that is the main complaint in the world, not dgn

the main complaint here is that we cancelled phish phry phridays with phee pie and whipped cream.

You just can't let it die, can you?

My main complaint is that I'm cold. Could someone turn up the fucking heat please?

Surely you can understand that those of us in charge of keeping this board are going to take it seriously? Surely you can understand that we will take it personally, regardless of context, when you continue to propagate the idea that we are overzealous with our ability to edit or censor posts.

Whether it is true or untrue, joke or no joke - that gets picked up by our members and ultimately it becomes reality to them. This does a disservice to DGN.

Please direct us to the last post of yours that was edited due to moderator discontent... I can tell you that it has been quite some time since one was deleted, and I do believe that was by your request.

You and others keep telling the board that we are doing this... we will continue to speak against it.

I believe I was still a moderator when BM's original posts were made.

I remember seeing the humor in them, definitely. I wasn't laughing too hard, however, as I saw them more as a stab at liberals than harmless satire.

But I saw the humor, and didn't see any harm.

I tried, when I was a mod, to not let my personal feelings on a given subject get in the way of seeing something objectively. I may not like discrimination against fat people, but it wasn't my place to delete a thread or edit it because it was discussing the health problems caused by being obese. There's a difference.

Likewise if something is being satirized, I can take a joke. Laughing harder at some than at others.

I do think things have taken a much, much more conservative swing on the whole on this board lately as far as how it's run. I've always seen a place for conservative opinions from people like TheDark, SoulRev & their ilk. But not from the powers-that-be.

And this is coming from a former "play nice rules" fanatic. hell, Nazi even. :wink

I think "playing nice" can be enforced without too much thought police action thrown into the mix.

Can someone poke this topic with a fork and declare it done now?

Sue this!

If Any being wishes me a 'happy' 'merry' or 'blessed' ANYTHING I'm taking it since most of my days are NOT very damned happy I'll take that energy and do myself some good.

I'm PAGAN and I could care what the term is...i like to be given a well wishing by a stranger or whom ever.

Be HAPPY in your misery :grin

Dave....honey.....

What does being a mod have to do with having a sense of humor?

It also does a disservice to me when you delete or edit my posts. I like services better than disservices. Like the molly maid service for example. They are better than deleted threads and posts. A taxi service, the customer service center at Krogers, the online banking service offered by my bank are all better than the disservice you and the headaches and heartache that you have caused me. I am crying right now as a matter of fact. All I really wanted was a Christian free Christmas and now look what you've done, you hurt me. :tear

Here is a condensed list of other things I like better than deleted posts: mustard, 1 cent horsey rides at meijer, xbox 360, run dmc, home depot, taco bell hot sauce, tennis shoes, water, flavored water, carbonated flavored water, godzilla versus mothra on AMC in the middle of the night, elvira, mexico, dress shoes, clan of xymox, ll cool j, most other things.

Oh one last thing, you deleted one of my posts about 2 weeks ago Marblez when I asked one person to stop mentioning me in his posts and you told me to take it to PM's but he blocked me from sending me a PM - after I requested the mods ask him kindly to stop mentioning me and no one ever did. Even this thread was taken offline for a few hours. I guess perception became reality!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS to you and your fellow moderators!

I'm thinking I'm going to be moving to AZ, soon! Can't wait! I friggin' love it here! The heat doesn't bother me at all and the best part? NO SNOW!!! (S.N.O.W. - Shit  No One Wants)   Been staying in Bullhead City where the kids and grandkids live. Next, we're going to the wife's cousin's which is a ways North of Kingman, in the middle of nowhere, where we actually plan to move.   I really like Bullhead. It's a nice little town. Not overcrowded like Colorado Springs has become, at all. Very light traffic, reasonable prices on everything, low taxes, etc. The river offers a lot to do, with a lot of beaches and campgrounds all around it.   But yeah even though we've been over 110º-115º F just about every day,  I can handle it!  What I can't handle anymore, is snow and being cold. Just tired of it. Give me the desert over a blizzard any day!

Nope, we wasn't doing anything. I didn't want to go by myself.  I ended up doing karaoke here. It would of been a perfect day to go, though.
