As an atheist, I don't believe in sacrifice to anything (unless it's as an offering to another human that actually exists).

However I do believe in killing for a number of reasons, which I'll get into now.

#1. Darwinisim, the very theory of survival of the fittist. If you're not smart enough not to get killed you deserve to die. On the flip side if you're stupid enough to get caught you deserve to fry. This is a "win-win" for society especially if the killer only kills the stupid/retarded.

#2. Canablisim, cause people need to eat. We've got another thread on that though.

#3. Public entertainment, because people get board. Strap a camera to some psycho's head and watch the mayhem unfold from the start of it to the shootout, and then videotape the execution. Say goodbye to those low ratings.

#4. Overpopulation, this helps with that, let said killer loose in Japan, the prime example of overpopulation.

#5. As an offering to another human, kinda like a present.

I sacraficed myself once in a spiritual ritual. I just cut my finger a little though and told the powers that be that whatever come my way I was ready to except it and that my essence was not my own, to do what you will with me and that I trusted in a higher power to do the right thing.

So yah, sorta.
