Age Discrimination

:devil I have noticed on alot of applications that they are not listing "It is illegal to discriminate against age , race ,color etc, etc, etc" Alot of them do not mention age anymore. Who is to say that when you turn 30 that you should retire and not work anymore and depend on the social security system. That system sux ass, I know I will not see it in my future. Let me guess, after you turn older than 25, you are considered a P.O.S. You cannot get a job anywhere in this country, Alot of these stupid ass corporations can eat shit, when they try to pull this kind of crap to deny anyone in their 30,s a good career!, Yeah I,m 35 but I do not feel it, I still feel like I am 20, and I definately do not look it either! Age Discrimination is a growing problem don't ignore it!

Same here. I am not activly seeking work as my health is fucked but when I was...and I am in sales......people said, your at an age where you should have a good client base already started.

I do think that sorta counts as age discrimination.

Especially if I am applying for a job selling something I have not yet sold before, and they hire the cute 20 yr old instead. Even though I have more experience. And she has none.

Yeah funny how people aren't supposed to descriminate, yet they do.

Contrary to what you think... Age discrimination is illegal. Has been since the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967.

Illegal yes but it doesn't mean that it still doesn't happen...they just candy coat it with a better name

Well...not to burst your bubble, any sales manager that hires an experienced rep wants to see numbers from past performance. A lot of times, sales managers are more apt to train someone how to do something their way rather than have them unlearn bad habits.

It may not have been age but a personality conflict with the hiring authority.

old people suck.

No, stupid people suck

Just because you're old doesn't mean you're stupid.

Yeah, I find that when I'm trying to get my groove on at City Club, all the bitches younger than 25 shun me. Perhaps because I'm old, but certainly not because I'm fat, stupid, or uninteresting. So It must be the age thing. If the silly lil' girls only understood that I could straighten the kinks our of their raven haired heads...LOL :cool

I don't care if they shun me. I am getting to the point where I feel like a perv dating girls younger than 30 anyway.

Lesbians on myspace that are real young seem to want to meet me but I think it is just because they think I have some secret carpet munching techniques to pass on.......I want people to like me as a person.

I'm thinking I'm going to be moving to AZ, soon! Can't wait! I friggin' love it here! The heat doesn't bother me at all and the best part? NO SNOW!!! (S.N.O.W. - Shit  No One Wants)   Been staying in Bullhead City where the kids and grandkids live. Next, we're going to the wife's cousin's which is a ways North of Kingman, in the middle of nowhere, where we actually plan to move.   I really like Bullhead. It's a nice little town. Not overcrowded like Colorado Springs has become, at all. Very light traffic, reasonable prices on everything, low taxes, etc. The river offers a lot to do, with a lot of beaches and campgrounds all around it.   But yeah even though we've been over 110º-115º F just about every day,  I can handle it!  What I can't handle anymore, is snow and being cold. Just tired of it. Give me the desert over a blizzard any day!

Nope, we wasn't doing anything. I didn't want to go by myself.  I ended up doing karaoke here. It would of been a perfect day to go, though.
