sass_in_the_pants Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 Ebenezer Scrooge saw them. Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg engaged in the least erotic girl on girl kiss ever to hit the big screen because of them. Pac-Man was mercilessly slaughtered by them. John Edwards is a millionaire because he talks to them. What about you? Do you see dead people? My fiance, who is by profession a scientist, still won't go into his own mother's pantry to fetch the cranberry sauce. He says evil spirits live among the green beans and fruit cocktail. He insists. He is an otherwise logical, rational, critically thinking sort of guy, and he is terrified of a pantry. I, on the other hand, think all of this is hogwash. So I volunteer to get the cranberry sauce. Because there is no such thing as ghosts, I tell myself. Because there is no such thing as ghosts, and this time I say it aloud. There is nothing to fear. I am unafraid of the pantry. Ghosts do not live where Spam lives. Who would hang out in a damp dark pantry for all of eternity? Yes, this is certainly all ridiculous. So I go into the pantry to fetch the cranberry sauce...and then I run like hell. I don't believe in ghosts, but that pantry made my teeth tingle. It was toothless man at the carnival creepy. It was neighbor who you never see, but somehow their lawn gets mowed in the middle of the night creepy. It was footsteps walking away from your bedroom window creepy. I still say that ghosts aren't real. My fiance forever will say that they are. What say you?
Homicidalheathen Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 Yes, in my grandmas old house I was 'attacked' by one. I had a psychic come up to me out of the blue and tell me about it and said I had to overcome the abuse that stems from my family tree to get over it. I feel I have as I never abused my kids......so the abuse stopped with my generation. I was laying in bed. 12 yrs old. I awoke because I had a strange feeling.....like something bad was coming, you know? Out of no where this figure of white but see through (an old lady, mean looking) came and was standing over me and beating my legs with a stick. I got ahold of my fear and it went away....but.......I never liked that house after that.
phee Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 Anybody see the Penn And Teller Show about Ghost Hunters????
Homicidalheathen Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 No but the old MI group disbanded and now there is a new one. I am kinda curious......I think it would be fun to go.....but I don't believe anyone has a machine that can actually record this stuff. This guy said he would take me sometime if anyone wants to.

Aralis Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 Almost everyone in my family that has passed has shown themselves or a sign to let us know they are still around! My mom has seen ghosts. I never have.
n0Mad Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 Anybody see the Penn And Teller Show about Ghost Hunters???? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yep! I love that show. I am the biggest believer in ghosts, but also the biggest skeptic at the same time. I guess I have my own opinions and theories based upon my extensive study and my limited, yet eerie, experiences.
Homicidalheathen Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 He is a member here http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TheParanorma...?yguid=98331588 and that other one at the bottom, spiritual occultist group. I will ask around, someone I know has hung out with the guy.
phee Posted December 26, 2005 Posted December 26, 2005 Just curious... Do you do "scientific" ghost hunting... or more of a "social" ghost hunt?
sass_in_the_pants Posted December 27, 2005 Author Posted December 27, 2005 Out of no where this figure of white but see through (an old lady, mean looking) came and was standing over me and beating my legs with a stick.I got ahold of my fear and it went away....but.......I never liked that house after that. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This is my first attempt at "quoting". Let's see if it works... OMG. That is FREAKING SCARY! You never liked that house after that? I wouldn't have gone within ten miles of it! Like I said, I don't believe in ghosts, but I'm not about to go out of my way to prove myself wrong either! Why do ghosts where clothes <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That is a VERY good question. My guess is that they're shy. And, how come ghosts show up everywhere except the bathroom? Are they respecting your privacy from beyond the grave? And, okay, how come these ghosts are all like civil war soldior, or forlorn lovers, or little kids who died tragically? Why aren't they ever something like Bill the phsy ed teacher who choked on his KFC? Why all the drama? I guess THESE are the great mysteries of the afterlife.
n0Mad Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 That is a VERY good question. My guess is that they're shy. (On ghosts wearing clothes) It all depends on what theory you go buy really. To use terms from "The Matrix", ghosts have a residual self image. The spirit tends to look like the body did in life and generally that means clothes. The unconcious mind shapes the ephemera to look however is appropriate for the situation. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Again, based upon which theories you follow. Mostly, a body that died peacefully, or even tragically but had no unresolved issues in life passes on to the afterlife; heaven, limbo, reincarnated, whatever. Other folk who died in particularly tragic, violent, or morbid ways and/or have unresolved business in life tend to linger on either as a memory of the tragedy or until their issues are resolved. Hence, the plethora of Civil War soldiers, forlorn lovers, and tragic kids. Bill the phys ed teacher on the other hand ... well, he probably went straight to hell if he was anything like my old phys ed teachers.
Homicidalheathen Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 To me the ghost hunting is done in fun as I am not afraid since being taught how to properly banish. I would carry my black candle and vestive powder with me. We did have someone hanging out here who uh........I don't know. Maybe it was an accident? Sent something to me. He lives to the west and it came in through this corner of my basement. Now this was not an apparition.....but just a voice of a child crying. My cats got freaked and wouldn't go in the basement anymore....... I was still hanging out with this person and chatting with him online down there and our friendship was based on rather chaotic times. I guess some restless energies are just drawn to chaotic energies (see why the chaos tat???? I so need to master my crap.) So then 'it' got up stairs and we heard it go through the house and to the front door. I thought maybe I was just nuts until my man and kids heard it too. Gave us all the willies! Just a childs voice screeming mommy....... Well I cannot afford to move so I went to the occult guy on Gratiot. He told me how to get rid of it and it worked. I sent it back the way it came with a all dark things go back into mother earths swamp energies to be rycycled and reborn visualization.......the candle......and the powder. It never came back and I had to stop hanging out with said freind for a couple years. Had it happen again with someone I hung out with this year with a different polterguist........not much of one just some thing that attached to my car when I hung out with him. It just made creepy scurrying and winny noises when it detached.......I did not even know it was there. I dumped him as a freind, just way to much chaotic energy for me. It was too strong and upset my balence as well. I go to this ladies house for these plant spirit journey groups. There was this one guy.......He is a local renowned pychic. Well he does excersims allthough not very well as the shit follows him around after and gets stuck to stuff and other people. At least 5 times before we had even ingested anything (so you all know it is not a hallucination) his shit got out and was making noises in the room. He is not invited back often. Don't do the exorsisms unless you know what the hell your doing is all I can say and don't try to help others, just help yourself. I don't take the ghost hunting to seriously as I don't really feel most people know what they are talking about but will take my powder just in case...... And my grandmas house....I had to go there this year when she died........I still hate it there. I guess someone else saw it too and won't go either.
Homicidalheathen Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 Might I add, that I will let no other Dom touch me right now but the one I have as he is very spiritual. Never had a problem. I however when doing a scene that is more hardcore and with person's not uh.....pure? Will do a banishing before and sometimes after. And also I may stop at a park on the way home and meditate just to be sure their icky energies are gone. Not everyone can do it without icky emotions arising. And that seems to sometimes draw stuff to you. I rarely do the Dom thing though. But I do take my candle and powder out and I guess some people not into the spiritual side of it think I am pretty frickin wierd. Waving my hands around chanting....Heee.
The_Dark Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 My thoughts on "Ghosts": This is a complicated thing to explain. For about 100 or so years we have been able to take pictures of the Aura that all living things give off. Noone has been able to explain what this aura is or what generates it. It's commonly known as Kirlian photography. Non-biological things dont have this aura. Living things give this aura off for a while after they die. Every persons aura is different and changes depending on mood and or heatlh. Some of you may know of something called Ley Lines and Nexus points (places where Ley Lines intersect). These are natural lines of energy that criss cross the earth. They can infact be measured with certain equipment. They show up on electromagnetic detection equiptment for one. If you can find a map of the ley lines you may well find that your local haunted house is sitting on one. Ghosts, as I think of them, are nothing more that recordings of a person. Not the acutal person themselves. I think that when someone dies in a strong emotional state or just has a very strong persanel aura.. they leave an impression on the local energy field. Ley lines magnify this affect. I also believe that a persons aura can be imprinted, for lack of a better term, on anothers. Hence people being haunted rather than places. The stronger recordings can been seen at times or otherwise affect the "real" world. I could just be full of shit too.
