The season premiered tonight on Sci-Fi. It's not all I hoped it could be (I've been spoiled by Firefly... hmm, must go watch again), but it was quite entertaining and I"m drawn into the story.

If only they'd get that no sound in space thing right... Firefly got it right and, I must say, it adds much to the series. You're drawn into the eye candy, not distracted by cheezy (though they did a decent job for BSG) future gun fire, and the very nice music adds all the necessary tension and drama. Ah well.

Recommended.

You can catch it again on Sci-Fi Channel on Sunday, starting with the mini-series at 3pm. I'm sure everyone has 6 hours on Sunday they need to kill.

Missed it last night and plan to watch the 2 episodes on Sunday. According to TV Guide there is 8 hours the mini series for 4 hours then 2 episodes back to back...

Well I just finished watching the first episode.... And it look promising, if and only if I do not remember all the inconsistancies (of their info, character gender changes, etc) having watched the original. Other wise I sit there and nit pick all the errors based on the original (like boomer and starbuck being female, that everyone of the ships in the survivors have FTL drives now, the fact that they claim they created the cylons when it was the Cylon reptilian race that created them, etc)...

it does get very interesting

they cut out gung-honess and campness of the 70's

added a lot of political interigue

added spirituality and prophecies

and a lot of pananoia. some cylons look like humans.

Been watching for the first few weeks now, and OMG I love it!!! Probably the best new sci-fi series I have seen in a long ass time, good stories and character developement are the focus.... not nearly as corny as say "Stargate" or a lot of the other cheesy stuff on.

Highly recommended.
