fallennon Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 Has anyone seen this or heard of it? My sociology prof was talking about it and I think I would really like to see it but wondered if anyone else had heard anything on it. It's supposed to be about Quantim Mechanics...Just curious.
Hermine Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 Think I read a review somewhere. Sounds like a most interesting flick. That makes sense, though, part of quantum mechanics is that there are limitations to the amount of precision with which you can observe something. Also that, at a certain point, the more you know about where a particle is, the less you know about where it's going, and vice versa. You can't know both at once. Quantum mechanics also deals pretty heavily with the fact that you cannot observe without affecting, so it's really impossible to know bleep about what it does when you're not looking.
Jarodaka Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 What the Bleep Do We Know? Hmm, "two hours of New Age hooey." Sounds like a movie that'll really piss me off and enforce my hatred of hippies. When I'm in that mood, I'll know where to turn.
phee Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 Saw it, it was really really cool. Not for everybody though, lots-o-physics and psycology, a lot of special effects.
fallennon Posted January 19, 2005 Author Posted January 19, 2005 Thanks Phee I'm going to check it out...
Guest Game of Chance Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 Has anyone seen this or heard of it? My sociology prof was talking about it and I think I would really like to see it but wondered if anyone else had heard anything on it. It's supposed to be about Quantim Mechanics...Just curious. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Its just so-so...if you're into quantum mechanics, you'll probably be bored. If you're just discovering these ideas for the first time, you'll probably like it. Best way to describe it...Quantum Physics 101.
Msterbeau Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 Saw it, it was really really cool. Not for everybody though, lots-o-physics and psycology, a lot of special effects. What he said. As an addict, some of what was presented felt exactly right. Some seemed like utter BS though. Take a look.
Homicidalheathen Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 Um I hate to say this but.......my man and all my hippie friends loved it. However, It triggered my narcalepsy in 20 min as do boring movies that won't hold my attention. It is like I am hypnotized into falling asleep. I cannot stop it if I even stay in the same room with a movie like this. So it was a nice sleeping pill for me. And I really, really tried to stay awake. I had not drank or eaten anything and had slept the night before so it should have been easy.
paradox Posted December 15, 2005 Posted December 15, 2005 saw this a month or so ago. not bad. some interesting stuff.
Guest Game of Chance Posted December 15, 2005 Posted December 15, 2005 Ken Wilbur's book the Spectrum of Conciousness is a much better study... Also, Quantum Questions, edited by Ken Wilbur is worth reading.
Guest Game of Chance Posted December 15, 2005 Posted December 15, 2005 Two more... Prometheus Rising and Cosmic Trigger by Robert Anton Wilson are also worth checking out...
