soothsayer Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 The Gov'nor of New Orleans has made statements about wanting a "chocolate" New Orleans. What is that shit all about ? Just when you think you've heard it all. Oh and he also says that God is angry with America and that's why the hurricanes destroyed New Orleans. Well Mr. Gov'nor.........if you know what Gods thinking maybe you should've done a better job of evacuating the city by finding out when God planned to destroy your city. :erm Something to think about. Has anyone else seen this press interview besides me?
Homicidalheathen Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Chocolate? Hey, what about strawberry? I hate food prejudice!

Blackmail Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 I'll try to find the link later but he also said God sent the hurricane to the U.S. because we are in Iraq......and he said God chose New Orleans because the black people there did not get along so it was a wakeup call. Then he said God wanted New Orleans to be a 'chocolate city'. Can it be that kwame has company on the worst mayor in America list? Seriously, what does it say about the people of New Orleans that this guy got elected? I bet the people who voted for him are the same people who refused to leave when warned of impending doom and then shot at rescue workers who tried to help them. I've never been to New Orleans but it sounds like the biggest group of uneducated, morally challenged people in the whole country. EDIT: here you go - http://www.upi.com/NewsTrack/view.php?Stor...17-082743-1797r "New Orleans mayor says God is angry NEW ORLEANS, Jan. 17 (UPI) -- New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin says the hurricanes that devastated the city last year are a sign that "God is mad at America," and at blacks in particular.
Homicidalheathen Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 Just saw the clip. Nut reminds me of some other crazy I know from the bible belt. That thing he said about Iraq was rediculous. Why did that sunami happen then? They pissed off god I guess.....no earthquakes or people camping out below sea level. Couldn't be that.....no.
soothsayer Posted January 17, 2006 Author Posted January 17, 2006 Makes me never want to visit there. What a way to make others feel welcomed.
Ginevra Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 From various sources, I have heard that various recent natural disasters were for various sins of the world. The tsunami was because the people affected are heathens and not Christians. The hurricanes were because Mardi Gras is celebrated. AIDs is because homosexuality is an affront to the Lord. Does the innundation of drug addicted newborns mean that God is punishing their parents for doing drugs during the pregnancy? If anyone is up on their Bible "facts", God sent the great flood in Noah's time because he tired of people being so wicked and in a fit of anger, he killed everyone except Noah and his immediate family. According to the text, God swore that he would never do this again. So how then do people justify saying such? Is it because it wasn't total world annihilation and only a "mini-flood"? We could go on all day like this. For whatever higher power I believe in, I would certainly hope they're a little more benevolent than that. Otherwise, I'd never step foot out my door ever again for fear that my God might strike me down on the spot for my inherent wickedness and for orginal sin to boot, since I'm female. And as far as a "chocolate" New Orleans? At least with Kwami, you can sort of predict what he's going to do next. With someone who's racist or prejudiced, some of the ways their minds run can be scary.

What is that shit all about ? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I not think many people have forgotten when rapper Kanye West went on television during the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fundraiser saying that "Bush doesn't care about black people" and that is why relief efforts have failed in New Orleans.

How odd that all these spiritual leaders always seem to know what God's thinking and talk to God but they never seem to know what's going to happen before hand. The reality is, these "leaders" are just crackpots talking out their asses.
Wounds Within Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Nagin apologized for his comments late yesterday as he stated, "I'm really sorry that some people took that they way they did, and that was not my intention I say everybody's welcome." http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/01/17/nagin.city/index.html
BlackHound Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Ok, my night now is fucked up. What the hell he was thinking.

The look on his face as he was standing next to Kanye West said it all.

There goes her chance (not that she had one) at first female president. I sometimes think these politicians need to write their own speaches........
soothsayer Posted January 19, 2006 Author Posted January 19, 2006 I don't think Hillary had any chance (not because of gender) but rather she doen't hae a good enough track record in office. By that I don't mean her husbands track record but her own.
