My opinion...video games are not as important as physical human contact or conversation but what do I know...I don't play the damned things!

People do need to escape though and if they need a game, channel surfing, a book, time in the garage, phone conversation then let them have that. On the other hand...if it's messing things up with 1 of your favorite humans then just back off it for a bit until things cool down.

I usually play around with my games either with someone who actually plays, or totally alone. I try not to have a significant other sit around and be bored while I ignore her for my Xbox. That, and when I have a girlfriend, I don't spend a lot of times with games, anyway.

That being said....I have no girl right now, and I haven't turned ANY of my consoles on in a few weeks. I don't know why that is. I have plenty of time, which I'm mainly just using to sleep.

I've only ended one relationship because of games, but he played everquest for 3 days without stoping aside to use the restroom, in wich case made his roomate sit there for the moment and he really started to smell and act kinda weird. there have been other times where I will run out of things to do and ask someone to quit playing video games, I play table top games, but no longer have a group to play with or I would and I don't think I'd let anyone tell me not to play once a week, and if anyone ever asked me to quit painting minis I'd tell them to find someone else, because I refuse to quit painting for anyone, no matter how I feel about them, it's important to me.

yeah no kidding. One bitch asked me not to play GTA so I raped her in my car so my health rating would go up, then I killed her and got my money back. Then her pimp was after me but I had to lay low because I had 3 warrants for my arrest already so I bought a rocket launcher and blew up all of vice city. Then I stole a taxi cab and rounded up all the hookers in the city for the policemans ball.

I have been pretty lucky I suppose. Over the last 2 relations I have been involved with video games have never been an issue. In fact they even join me and my friends for a good game of 16 player Halo (online or at home with a group).

That's a little on the stupid side. My b/f is into yugiho, almost any sony game system and all cool electronic gadgets. I could never make him choose. That would be like someone telling me to shoot my parents or him. One of my ex's is always saying he spends more money on games than on you but to me money doesn't mean a whole alot. Video games won't hurt me, cost me excess amounts of money in dates/dinners, etc. they won't lie to me, they won't bitch at me, they won't cheat on me, they won't have any bad time of the month, they won't ignore me, they won't leave me, and are sometimes much more enjoyable than sex.

I say I'll take my video games over any more women for a very, very LONG time. Being single and an asshole to girls is fun.. I was always such a nice guy to girls, or people in general when I first met them.. But now everyone I meet is either a liar or a prostitute (male or female) and that's how I see everyone I meet from now on and they are treated as such..

I have my handful of friends, I don't need or want any more.
