Yah, I found a site for this too....let me look it up again.

I love that Christians can be goth now and that 'being goth' is no longer seen as a satanic influence like it used to be.

I missed the point in time when I wasn;t allowed to be a Christian....

My pastor thought everyone should dress like spring time and burn their rock albums.

i think thats pretty interesting actually. one of the biggest problem i have always has with the Christian faith is its complete inability to accept nontraditional people/belief systems...if you don't beleive, dress, and act in their set way you are wrong and will burn in hell.

this gives me a little hope

I love the fact that Christians can be goth. but my mom acts like it's all evil and that i'll go to hell for it. I wish she could be one of those Christians who can accept it.

wait a minute now, I'm a Christan and .... when in the world have you ever heard me say anything even remotely like this???????

there are good examples and poor examples of Christianity. There is truth and there is bullshit. And if you study the example of Christ (ie the root of Christianity) then you see somone who was all about those who did not fit into pre-conceived ideals. He hated that about religion. ANd they hated him for it, killed him for it.

exactly, if you follow the example of Christ and not just go on what a pastor is telling you.

i'm going on my personal experience here. i've been in the christian church pretty much all my life...mainly baptist. maybe its just different back home in TN, they are extremely closed-minded and intolerant. my family has even gotten worse about being this way even to me. it just makes me sad, and is the main thing that pushed me away from church.

i wan't meaning any disrespect to you or anyone, just stating that it gives me hope again in this faith to see things like this...or even when i meet someone that is genuine and nonjudgmental that proclaims to be christian...it makes me happy and hopeful.

Hahha ! Isn't that the truth.

I have a feeling he'd be thrown out of *most* mainstream Christian churches today. If I could find a place to worship like my little church in Tenessee I'd be at church every week. It was a really cool, accepting place. (really the only thing I miss about Tennessee other than a few of my family). They were really sweet and loving and truly tried to help people, definitely nothing I've found in any churches I've tried around here, unfortunately.

its ok, I dont feel disrespected.

Those same "religeous" situations or people that have judged you...they take you for granted, they lump you in to pre packaged social standings...you have "X" amount of worth based on thier shallow value system.

...and often in response, based on being harmed by that irresponsible religeous approach, we then take the same approach, and lump others into a predisposed value system that is rooted in our anger and disollusionment.

all people do this, we simply pick our sides and go from there.

before I became a Christian (and I mean the christian I am today) there was a small handful of times when I ran across someone who did not fit the mold. I used to hate Christians. But these people were dificult to lump in with the others. looking back now I beleive that at those times, and those same people, were God's way of reaching me. Challenging my thoughts, forcing me out of the box. It is those people, and those out of the box situations that helped to forge who I am.

dont give up babe.

I know exactly what you mean.

I also know a very cool church that is not mainstream, but is real.

its out in Canton. Took me a looooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggggggg time to find that church, but it was worth every inch of the journey.

I'm glad to hear you've been given some hope, and my wish is that others will become a little hopeful as well. Jesus didn't die for cookie-cutter-molds, if you know what I mean. God's waiting around for everyone. Any look. Any lifestyle. The world needs to wake up and see that it's the heart that really matters. I know there are church communities out there that look down upon a gothic lifestyle or just something that doesn't fit their opinions and beliefs, which is really sad. But, nevermind them. Don't let these people's opinions drive you away from God-- who will see you as beautiful in any way, shape, or form.

actually there have been Xtian goths for many years now, but its been underground. IN Cali we had a chruch in the San DIego area called Sanctuary that specifically catered to the Goth scene. Its still there. There also used to be it

s sister church on the west (by LA) also called sanctuary - it was for the Metal Heads
