just looking through goth clothing/fashion sites will help u find some interesting stuff. i always see cute things i wish i could do w/ my hair/makeup when i'm shopping. www.heavyred.com those girls look gorgeous.... www.milieux.com/goth/hair that's a site w/ a long list of different sites for your hair, mostly for extensions and falls and stuff, but i thinkt here's some style sites. that site also has links for clothes, make up, corsets, pretty much anything.

I thought it said that too! where is my head at? hehe

I have shoulder length hair too..do you plan on doing your own hair or having someone else do it? If you are doing it yourself, you might want to play around with some different things - I do different crazy things with mine at home, but then never go out with the crazy hair do's lol. There is this stuff at Sally Beauty Supply called "hair cement" (can't think of the brand name) that works really well for spikes and any other style you want to hold.

Go to dollar stores or any beauty shop and look at the section of "fake hair" they have.

Honestly, for Prom my senior year, I pulled my hair up into a high(er) bun than normal and put a fake-hair tie around it. My hair looked professionally done almost. My grandmother would always bark about how I never did anything with my hair but when she saw one of my photos, she exclaimed "I LIKE HER HAIR!! Who did it?!"

Mom: "She did."

If I can find the picture, I'll scan it and show you, if you want to see it.

But yeah, back to my suggestion....... like I said, dollar stores always have these hairties that look like real hair in the hair goods section. Right around the area of hair bands, bracelets and all that fun stuff. Look around, find something to match your natural hair colour and, for less than 2 bucks, you have yourself something that looks professional. =3

And, instead of it taking 2+ hours for something professional, you have awesome hair in less than 10 minutes. =D

all i can suggest is a good stylist can make anything possible. maybe sketch out a few ideas or take several pictures you like and see if you can come up with something thats a mix of a couple ideas you see you like.

actually has alot of up-dos. They might not have the spikes you want in them, but you can just tell the stylist to add them in.

You might be able to do your hair yourself, if you've got the patience and the time to practice.

Otherwise, I know that Aveda has a hair school here, and maybe some others. They might offer you cheaper prices.

And in my experience, a salon isn't necessarily any better than any place else. There's this place by my house, I don't know the name, but Ruby cuts hair. She 147 years old, but she's good. Maybe if you can find a stylist that isn't affiliated with a salon, they'll do it cheaper.
