ManicQueen Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 I got an engagement ring with a matching wedding band. He also bought his wedding band. I'm a little confused about this. Well, not really confused.. I guess mixed emotions is more like it. He said he wants me to wear the engagement ring from now on and that we ARE engaged. He said he want's to marry me more than anything. I felt he was very serious when he was giving me the ring.. almost like he was getting all choked up. Ok. But he still can't say I love you. I think everything will be ok. I know he loves me. He show's me this everyday with the way he talks to me and his actions. It's kinda like that movie Ghost, where Patrick Swayze's character doesn't say I love you to the wife but instead he say's "ditto." I think I can live with that and he IS making progress in our relationship so I have to give him that. So anyway, I'm engaged! Officially! :grin
Onyx Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 Know what? The more I read about this, the more I think it doesn't really matter in the long run, not in this case. Maybe he will say it in time, and maybe he won't, but so many men have said "I love you" and they do not ever even mean it. He just showed you and the whole world and everyone who sees you wearing his ring that he loves you. awwww, and on Valentine's day! I'm just all teary-eyed. This made MY day too, really. Congratulations to you and to your husband-to-be.

As long as you feel loved honey. That is the most wonderful feeling in the world. Dont give up on that just because he cant say it. It better then him saying it and treating you like shit.
ManicQueen Posted February 15, 2006 Author Posted February 15, 2006 And it's better then him saying it and not meaning it. I hate that! Anyway, the more I think about it the more positive I feel about "us." I gosta find my cam so I can take a pic of this bad boy. I wonder where he got the money to get this ring? Nah, I don't wanna know :laughing
bean Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 That is very sweet. Congratulations! I wish you the best of luck and many many years of happiness!
saechalyn Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 Actions speak louder than words....sounds like it is just a hurdle for him for whatever reason. I'm glad you feel better. Congratulations!
Steven Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 she wants to hear it people, and really....who doesent? Nothing wrong with that. Laura shows me every day in many ways, but she still says it all the time, and I still dig hearing it. Talk to him about it MQ, if you two are in love you can talk about anything. It may be that all it takes is that he realizes that it matters to you......
