Marblez Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 I have been approached with a request to stop being polite/kind/friendly toward someone here on DGN because they do not like me. Perhaps they do not understand that to be friendly is not an attempt to be a persons "friend". If someone takes offense to commentary and advice by myself which is provided in a polite manner - that is not MY fault. I am Christian. I attempt to treat people with kindness, love and respect - as I would like to be treated. I WILL NOT stop making polite/kind/helpful gestures toward a person regardless of whether they like or dislike me. If someone I knew were broken down on the side of the road, even knowing that they didn't like me, I would STILL pull over and attempt to help. I am like that, period. I will not stop being myself, I am proud of these traits. I will not avoid topics which I feel strongly enough to post about. I do not post whore, and what I choose to respond to is deliberate and important to me. If someone finds it offensive that I offer assistance, be it advice or material, in response to a plea that they post here on DGN, I ask that they please consider my commentary to be directed at others with similar situations. Others that may appreciate the assistance but are not as comfortable asking. If this is still unacceptable to you and the sight of my name and likeness is so horribly offensive, please set your preferences so that you do not see my posts.
Hellion Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 :devil I agree with you,you will always be my friend.

Lilith Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 You have a right to post and they have a right to ignore, seems fair. Keep being your Self, and kudos for standing up for you.

Rayne Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 Exactly, they should use the ignore feature then. That's why it's there.
honeymustard02 Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 Can I be your whore? I just HATE when someone tries and helps me out. Even more so when I ask (note sarcasm) Screw 'em Marblez

torn asunder Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 of course, if it (the request to stop) comes from the individual themselves, i'm only too happy to oblige - if my advice is unwanted, i will refrain from communicating with you...
Wounds Within Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 I don't see why one would not like you Marblez, you are a very pleasent person.

Marblez Posted February 17, 2006 Author Posted February 17, 2006 I don't see why one would not like you Marblez, you are a very pleasent person. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Various people do not like me for their own personal reasons. I am not a saint. I can't refute it all. This person and I, though, I think it is a personality conflict. I want to make it obvious that I am not trying to trash this person or to "one up" them. I do honestly hope that things work out well for them.
Wounds Within Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 I want to make it obvious that I am not trying to trash this person <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I didn't feel that you were at all. You are being very respectful. As far as you not being a saint .... well no one is perfect of course and we all have our flaws in one way or another. It is a pitty this person has beef with you, but it is there loss and life goes on.
LadyWindstone Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 I can't stand that people would be so ungrateful for help when they obviously ASK for it. Should it matter where the help comes from? No. Keep being yourself. For every one person that can't stand you there are 100 others that look forward to your friendship. I still luvs yas girlie.
