I'm sure if there were a positive energy transfer, you'd have all you needed.

Alas, since that is not the case, the lot of us will have to settle for pulling for you and yours, TD.

Stay strong.

Well, I've been keeping things to myself on this... mostly because we don;t really know whats going on yet. It's come to the point that i have to vent though... I'm worried and it's eating me from the inside out. A bit of back story first...

She has been having bad headaches for about 6 or 7 months. They come on all of a sudden. She describes them as pins and needles in her brain. And her head feels numb. At the same time she has been having problems breathing... like passing out if she lies on her left side for any length of time. She also seems to have gained some weight and no matter what she does she cant loose it.

So, in December she started having tests run. They did an MRI on her head and a few test on her lungs... The lungs tests came back fine.. but showed signs there was a problem with her heart.... the MRI showed "spots" on her brain right where she feels the pins and needls. Mini-strokes.... but it also showed a problem with her Thyroid gland. So more tests were ordered... lots of them. They stuck an ultra sound down her throat and imaged her heart. Turns out she has a Septic Anerism in her heart valves. That means that when her heart beats, the valve is bulging a bit and allowing a small amout of blood to travel backwards... causing blood clots.... maybe the cause of her mini-strokes... then they did an Ultra sound of her Thyroid.. and found an equal sized mass...

So.. more tests... at this point were are looking at possible open heart surgery to repair her heart... the spots on her brain need more tests.. it maybe related to her heart or it may be MS. and her Thyroid... it may be cancer... more tests are to follow

So, thats it in a rambling nutshell....

Mark, my friend, I will pray for you and your wife. I won't pity you and say I'm sorry to hear this, but know that God has a plan for all of us, and no matter how terrible things may seem at any point, he knows what's best for each and every one of us. What will make us stronger, what will keep us going, God is in every part of it. Fear not anything with God at your side, brother.

Your friend,

- Brian

I'm feeling a bit more of myself today... the shock of the C word has worn off. Pluss, I did alot of crying this weekend when the wife wasn't around. Can't let her see that too much. Need to keep her spirits up.

She goes to the Cardiologist tommorrow to see whats going to be done about her heart... and next week for further testing on the thyroid so they can better plan a course of action....

thanks again for all the support... Being strong is hard. I'm already tired.

glad to see spirits are up a bit...... a good cry does help =)

Hang in there Mr.!!!

WOOHOO!!!!!! We just got back from the Cardio apointment. Good News!!!! Though she does have a septic anerism... it's not bad enough to warrant surgery. She just has to loose some weight, exorcise and keep an eye on it. She is a risk for a heart attack, but no surgery in the near future. OMG I feel so releived...

Yay! That is excellent news. Glad to hear it!

That is really really good news! Also a very good sign that she can exercise. So glad to hear she doesn't need surgery.

It's been a few weeks. How's the wife doing?

Hope everything is going well for the both of you!

We are still waiting for test results. She wont let me go in the doctors office to get them. Something about wanting to be able to go back.

Posted

Is she scared that you'll burn them with your flaming head?

Posted

SHIT I would be. I dunno if they even let spouses take your med info since the HIPPA act ...do they?

Posted

Actually, yes. She's rather afraid that if I go in... things will get broken. Perhaps even people. They are pissing me off in the worst way.

Posted

i know that feeling. nearly lamped a few docs in my time.

good news on the anerism!

Posted

Sheesh...there is nothing more agonizing than waiting for tests/results/appoinments/ follow ups etc....

No news is better than BAD news...I always say.

Really crossing the fingers here for you all.

And yet? You can't keep us waiting like this, Dark. You just can't!!

Ok, maybe you can. Take all the time you need sweetie.

Well... Still no word on what the "spots" are on her brain... but the lump next to her thyroid is not cancer. Seems to be a goitter... or however that is spelled. So, looks like she'll be having that and her thyoid removed... not sure on how soon though.

Good luck!

Cancer is very scary stuff. I ahve several tumors that they are supposed to be monitoring. The terrifying part is the unknown.

Thinking about you guys now.
