Rayne Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 Hahhahaa... I've seen that before. I want a go!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Me too ... me too ...
Ginevra Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 That looks like a flipping nightmare. Speaking as someone who's driven traffic circles, albeit not in the UK, they can be harsh. HW, what's a "give way"? Is that akin to the US's "shoulder" on the side of the road?
honeymustard02 Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 I haven't driven one THAT big, but they're not that hard. They quiet fun actually. You can drive in circles for HOURS and not be lost all at the same time!!!! :woot:
Scary Guy Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 HW, what's a "give way"? Is that akin to the US's "shoulder" on the side of the road? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sounds like our "yield" to me. Giveway (to oncomming trafic)
kellygrrrrrl Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 There are a few here in the Metro-Detroit area...I've been on them, couldn't tell ya where they're at though... They seems very easy going actually...the one I was on was pretty heavily traveled at the time, and it went smooth! I think there are some in Oakland county SOMEWHERE? Somewhere.
n0Mad Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 I thought the idea of a roundabout was to have everyone go in one direction to prevent chaos and congestion and you just loop around until your turn. This one has traffic going both ways. Now that's chaos. And what's with the little roundabouts at the mouth of each road? That's odd.
Msterbeau Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 I can think of two traffic circles around Detroit. One is in Brighton and the other is where M-53/Van Dyke and 18 Mile all come together.
