May she rest in peace.

I feel so bad for her son. First, his dad, Christopher Reeve dies. Now, his mom.

So a non-smoker can die at 44 of Lung Cancer? Why the hell did I quit?

That's it - Where's my smokes??

Yes, it is terrible.

A good friend of mine died of lung cancer a few years ago. She was under 40 and left behind two boys and a great husband . She was a smoker :-(

Smoking sucks. Cancer sucks. Dying young when you have children sucks.

RIP Mrs. Reeve.

Yet more proof that you can die without being a smoker. You know... if only we could get federal funding for Fetal stem cell research.. we could have grown her new lungs before she died....

:devil Way too young to die,May she rest in peace. The one thing I cannot understand is getting that damn disease, without being a smoker.Could radon gas be the culprit?Hmm...

or smog. or genetics... believe it or not... people get cancer all the time without an outside source. People died of lung cancer before people started smoking.

or cosmic rays, or just plain random mutation of cells. The western mindset is that every occurrence has a traceable cause... the proverbial "logical explanation"... but, it ain't necessarily so.

I lost my brother to cancer at 47 years old in 1999. Then my godfather/cousin this past week at 59, also to cancer.

Both were heavy smokers.

But my brother worked around chemicals in cheezy small companies. And my cousin was exposed to agent orange in Vietnam.

I'm willing to accede smoking may not have been the culprit.

But it sure as shit didn't help.

According to Wayne, she worked in a club for some time in her younger years. So, secondhand smoke could be the culprit.

I wish this country could get off its high horse and dive into some serious genetic research including stem cell research. People think about being so right more than looking into the future where we should be. I think there are TOO many rights. And not the right type of rights are used anymore.
