Hi everyone! I'm still alive & busier than ever. Still in major "don't wanna deal with boards" mode (it comes & goes) but I think of you all often. I'm also grateful 'cos using the Pomba Gira handle here enabled someone to track me down... I was close to this person in my early online days 10 years ago, but lost contact at least 6 yrs ago. So that was a happy thing! I guess it's good that no one could pronounce "Kichijoten" :wink

Hope everyone is well. My interferon tx is going great, relatively minor side fx & last bloodwork my viral load was "undetectable". Lost mad weight 'cos I pretty much have no appetite & most food tastes nasty, but there's lots worse side fx I could've had.

Big news (a) I'm in the process of buying a house, something I never thought I'd do since I'm from a family of homeowners, & we all had large archaic houses with $300/mo gas bills in the 1970s, & I have a pathological fear of replacing furnaces & roofs. Ai well, guess it's time to start acting like a real grownup! I love my little house & my huge yard, love the neighborhood, & got a killer zero-down deal. Shooting to close by the 21st (pretty sweet birthday present even if a week late) so errone wish me luck! I have to buy a fancy fountain pen to sign all the paperwork with :wink

Big news (b) I got my hair cut... all of it, down to about 1/2". Very traumatic since I started the dreads in '85 & hadn't cut it since. They were all going to break off anyway 'cos my hair was seriously thinning due to my meds. But I'm happy with the result & have accepted that this change is also part of moving on. Don't like short hair but it's actually pretty cute. But I'm still gonna start new dreads as soon as it's strong & long enough. The weirdest thing (only the POCs here will get this one) is the texture of my hair has COMPLETELY changed. It was always always as nappy as nappy gets (I know some people consider that word pejorative but it has positive connotatons for me). But now it's soft & wavy... what they used to call "good" hair in the bad old days. Go figure. Only time will tell if it grows out that way.

Well I'll prolly still not be on here a lot, at least till the end of the school year... in addition to errthing else I was forced to take more online courses which are god-awful time consuming. But, you're all in my thoughts & I wish you all well! I haven't been down in the 313 since the holidays (mostly due to being utterly impoverished), but I plan to visit sometime after I get moved (prolly early April)... my nephew just turned 18 & I promised him an evening at City. Till then, peace to all & MCL to my DGN juggalo family!

ps when I do come back I promise not to bring any troublemakers with me this time! :devil

Thanx sweetie!

I was terrified to start the treatment 'cos a good friend got so sick & depressed he had to stop it... I almost didn't but my family bullied me into it. I'm so glad I decided to go for it. My dreadlocks are a small price to pay for not getting liver cancer a few years down the road!
