and tell them how much of a miracle drug Chantix is.

I am utterly amazed at my lack of urge to smoke.

And how I am actually not having panic attacks and anxiety that would usually throw me into a state of absolute insane.

I strongly recommend it for those looking to quit.

OMG is it ever.....

it has to be perscribed.....

I had no idea what I got myself into and paid for it sorta by accident....

but, my insurance covered $90.00 I paid $60.00

It is a 2 pak 2 month kit.

You start off taking one low dose a day for like 3 days, then 2 low doses for the remainder of the week, 7 days after it has been in your system, you quit. Which is when they UP the dose...then you're up to 2 higher doses a day for the rest of the 2 months. I am almost on week 2....I didn't quit on the 7th day, I quit yesterday....

But day 1 of 24 hour detox was the day I remember most and then for about 2 weeks after....going cold....

so if I feel this good on day 1, I feel confident that I CAN do this.

Before I thought it was hopeless.....really....it was that bad.

But anyway, after I upped the dose to the 2nd week, and still smoked, I felt like I hadn't smoked (just slightly edgy as if I hadn't smoked - but TOLERABLE which was my problem)....then after even a couple days more, I felt kind of nauseated after I smoked.

Basicaly what this stuff does is block the Nicotine Receptors in the brain from recieving the nicotine....

You continue to smoke, and you don't get the "addictive Effect" the receptors are looking for....for that release of dopamine.

The pill does that with a non-addictive nictotine decoy.

called Varenicline.

or "Chantix"

Although I do have to wonder.....when my 2 months are up...will I expirience withdrawals from the medication?

or serious side effects?

slowly stop taking it?

What I found to be the hardest when quitting is the twisting and sick rollercoaster stomach feeling I had ALL THE TIME.

Anxiety or Panic feelings.

THAT is what made me go back to smokes.....it took that horrible painful feeling away.

I am expiriencing SLIGHT anxiety, but it goes away real quick, almost un-noticable if I put my mind to something else like real quick.

I feel satisfied. The urger is really not there...even when I do think about it.

Quite amazing to me....really.

When the lady handed me the bill at the counter, I was FLABBERGASTED at the cost.

but it is well worth it.

Even after day one of being smoke free....I feel I can do this....I don't have that lingering "I can't handle this" feeling....

I just need to quite being such a punk and like, just not smoke. I dont get any physical withdrawl when I dont smoke. I just smoke when I'm thinking or when I'm stressed out at work.

$60 makes that much a diff in my world....unfortunatley.

I just rationalized it with, well, at leaste I'll save $155.00 to $255 a month A MONTH A MONTH yes...

I'll just be broke until that starts to add up.....in a month.
