Draco1958 Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 Let's do it, we should go to Brighton or Proud Lake state parks. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I pick Brighton State Park. I've camped there before. More sites than Proud Lake and a great walking path from the campsite to the beach along the lake.
TheLordShaper Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 I'd be up for weekend DGN camping trip as well. I've got all my gear already out of storage, inventoried and ready to go. I'm getting set for my biking season so I'll be out in the wilderness somewhere pretty regularly. Lets organize this. I remeber the talks of the camping trip last year and it fell through. So sad. TLS
kellygrrrrrl Posted April 19, 2006 Author Posted April 19, 2006 Hell yeah! We need a DGN camping trip. Anyone have a cabin anywhere? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Gotta do it up right Sppok! Camping is not camping unless there is tents, a fire and nothing but tree's! I have a 6 person Tent! It is my Man-tent-sion! And tons of camping gear! I am certainly not oppose to a cabin though! Hey tiolets & running water is always nice when camping!
kellygrrrrrl Posted April 19, 2006 Author Posted April 19, 2006 Merritt is perfect. I know of a completely secluded spot where the Huron and Manistee Meet up (I think those are teh 2 rivers) Dark knows....he lives up there! There is an old bridge to jump off of, and tons of land space with 2 firepits and TREEs.....Must camp Must camp....I hope i hope i hope!
DarkRacer Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 Always can journey to the Misasagua river in northern canada, 8.5 hrs by car plus another 6-8 by canoe. Ahh good times.
DarkVampire Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 I hate spring fever, to me, it's spring allergies.
Kit Kat P Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 take a few walks on the beach and in the mountains with my gf and w/o our cellphones
Draco1958 Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 Let's go camping at Brighton State park, nice area, nice beach, fire pits and showers near by, I like to stay clean, bathrooms so you don't have to share a tree with the wildlife. Great clear night sky. I need to reinventory my stuff but going from memory(haven't camped in 2 years) coleman stove, plates, cups and utensils for about 4 to 8 people, 2 tents but access to 2 more. 2 coolers, pots and pans, 4 citronella candles, 3 sleeping bags, canopies, tarps, 2 battery operated lamps, 2 flashlights and I don't need to bring a computer like a friend of mine did one year. However I will bring a radio/cd/tape player. Gotta have some music, even if just native american flute music.
Guest Megalicious Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 I feel like such shit today, =( It was such a beautiful day ... I wanted to go for a walk at the arb =( But I did lie in the sun that was coming through the slider door Like a kitty!

I don't like carrying it farther than is absolutely neccessary, it weighs almost 150 lbs.

Aralis Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 I look forward to rollerblading and walks in the woods. I always use to love to do that as a child.
slingerlandstyx Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 What weighs 150 lbs??? There is a boat ramp near by if that is what you need. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sorry for the lack of clarity. My boat weighs 150 lbs. It's not even worth it to launch it from the trailer, let alone possible with the rack for the second boat on the trailer. I just pull it close to the water, and with a second person, lift it off the trailer.
The_Dark Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 Kelly, I think the rivers your thinking of are the Clam River and the Musquegon River. Are you talking about the one lane iron suspension bridge on the dirt road? Thats within 5 miles of my house. I have a spot to camp back in the woods. People could park at my place and then hike to the spot... about 2 miles. Or if you have vehicles that can handle a 2-track I can get us with 100ft. and the cars would be camaflodged from anyone not in a helicoptor. You would have to bring a water supply of some type as there is no standing or running water in my woods. Well, not mine, but I like to think of it that way. This spot is also a 30min hike from the Indian mounds.
