Recurring dreams

Do any of you have a dream that you have had systematically in your lifetime? I have a dream often where I am in my every day existence and I all of a sudden am asked to prove that I have a high school diploma. I immediately stop what I am doing to search for the said diploma, can't find it and am in the halls of my old high school shortly thereafter. I sit in classes with younger students and continually question whether I really did graduate or not. I think the basis behind this dream is I have left certain things in my life unfinished.

JandDead,

It's interesting that you have more than one recurring dream, that's rare. Most people are plagued with just one. It has been said the average person only has 1-2 nightmares per year? That is amazing. I have at least 3 a week. :nut

i dont remember many dreams. not since i went through hypnotherapy at 16, the hypnotist pit into my subconcious that whatever was causeing me to freak out to come to me in my dreams... okay before that day i could remember EVERYTHING. every dream i had that night for 2 or 3 days after.

since... 3 years of nowt then they slowly crept back in. its down to remembering A dream once every 3 months or so. and then it usually involves one person i know

Oh, man I used to get dreams about being in highschool. I'd freak out because I had some little memory of having graduated. The school I went to was the same one as my 9th grade year. It was the worst experience of my friggin life. I'd wake up so freaked out every time I had that dream. The ones with grade school or middle school were never that bad.

I always have dreams that occur in and around my childhood house.

the thing about it, is that the house was falling apart then....it was scarey...so in my dreams, the house is scarey. Or I'm around the house. There was a woods behind my house, and I will frequently have a dream where the water that floods the woods is high and there is someone chasing me. I am naked. Can't run. I'm stuck in the water in the mud...I get up...and stagger....

Seems like all of my dreams are centered around this house.

I have terrifying dreams when I remember them.....very rarely do I have a dream that is a good dream and I remember it.

I would also like to note, that I do dream in color. I would remember certain details. I remember mostly seeing greens, yellows and blues...

I have recurring dreams of Iraq. Like when I was in Samara, and watched my first two insurgents killed before my eyes.

I see my bestfriend, Blaker, and what happened on that mission.

I see all of my friends from over there. Seeing them smile, the fights, the everything.

But the best part of Iraq, is now mine.

it's not so much a recurring dream as it is an add on of a dream i've been having since i was...wow, that long ago, huh?...um, 5-6.

i have two buildings that i always visit at one point in time, or another. one's a department store that, over the years, has managed to turn itself into this huge mall-like structure. the other is this house with thousands of trick doors/walls/windows/passage ways/ etc., that, also, keeps expanding. i also have a water-park somewhere inside my head that comes up once in a while.

the house is used only when things get really complicated, and a solution needs to be found out, only by taking the hardest route there is; one that you create! not to mention, that the basement inside this house that i've created always creeps me out.

the mall-like structure is when everything is put into order, after finding everything else out, and arraged accordingly. i also have a mall supervisor just to make sure that everything doesn't move around without some kind of recognition of it's whereabouts.

the water park... i haven't figured out it's function yet.

those are the main 3 dreams i have that keep showing up.

i have nightmares as well, but none worth mentioning at this point in time.

No, I don't think I've ever had an entire dream, or even part of a dream, more than once.

I've had similar experiences in dreams, but in totally different situations. Like I've had dreams where I flip all the light switches in the place I'm in, and none of them work, but in one dream that was in my aunt's house, while in another I was in my old elementary school.

I have had things happen to me in real life, though, when I had just dreamed almost the exact same thing a few nights before.
