Nienna Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 Ladytron's album "The Witching Hour" is awesome! They have a sound that is reminescent of Pet Shop Boys with some really synth pop type sounds and alittle indy too! Anyone else a fan?

I found out about them when I was in Europe a few months ago, they are fun. Do you like Felix da Housecat 'n Miss Kitten?
Blackmail Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 not a big fan of 'electroclash' but I think Ladytron are ok. Remember when all the indie hipsters pretended they were into indie-synthpop for like a week? All the while none of them have ever heard of A Different Drum Records and they liked to namecheck New Order but never listened to Low-life in their entire lives. Oh sorry, i'm going on a tangent again. I'll check out Ladytron.
Scary Guy Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 Minimalistic fluff techno, but in a good way. Although BM is right, they're three steps away from indie-emo'esque techno. Reminds me of Kraftwerk but not as cool.
LuluVox Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 I'm a fan. And not just because they're named after a Roxy Music song.
TearSandrille Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 I actually just started listening to some of their music since I snagged my b/f's cd collection lately. They aren't bad, but I am not quite sure if I like them yet. Still going to have to give them a few more spins.
Blackmail Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 Ok here is a more informed take. The first few Ladytron albums were crap in my opinion and electroclash was a silly genre. Their new album is straight ahead pop and several of the songs could have been done by New Order or Depeche Mode and.......it's fucking great. 'Destroy Everything You Touch' could have fitten on any of the New Order albums from the late 80's. that song 'Evil' from one of their older albums is fucking awesome too, I am very impressed that Ladytron moved away from the indie-pop electro and are now making highly polished and stylish pop. One of the years best albums in my book.
