torn asunder Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 in reading this article, this section jumped out at me... "The good news, though, is that we actually have the tools to do something about it," Kurzweil said. "RNA interference can stop biological viruses because viruses are basically genes wrapped in protein, and by suppressing that genetic information, you can actually stop a virus with RNA interference." am i reading this right? we currently have the technology to produce a cure for the common cold, as well as any other viral infections?
The_Dark Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 Sorta... we have the begining stages... still lack complete control and the ability to stop them without destroying them. programing is incomplete too.
Scary Guy Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 We've actually had it for quite some time. However it's more profitable to keep treating it over and over than to cure it completely.
