Live Music

Does anyone else despise it? I mean as recorded live music, not a concert.

It really depends on the recording. If it's a crappy bootleg, then yes, I despise it, because it's basically teasing me by letting me hear the songs, but letting me hear them in a horrible, crappy, sometimes traumatizingly bad way.

If it's a live album, then there are so many factors going in to whether or not I'm going to like it. The sound quality is usually bearable, but if the recording has been edited to death, then it loses its allure for me. I prefer a nice, thorough reproduction of a show, not some cut up juxtaposed mess.

What do you find annoying about live recordings, Miranda?

Ehh it depends. I have heard some really bad and some really good live albums. I thought Rammstein's Live in Berlin was pretty good.

The only thing I don't like about most live performances/recordings in general is when they change the sound of a song. I've heard some pretty terrible live performances of songs in my time. For instance I have a live video of VNV Nation that has to be their worst performance ever. The difference between the studio and live version is night and day.

Absolutely not! As a musician I love hearing live recordings of bands. It allows me to hear how songs can be performed live and how those artists reproduce their ideas in front of an audiance.

except when the songs become an excuse to put on some kind of show and they don't even sound right. Like out of breath, not hitting the notes right, etc.

exactly.

I love live recordings for metal, in particular, if they're done well. It's nice to be sure that the very technical metal is actually successfully played in concert where there's just a wee bit less leeway for mistakes XD

A Live Recording, is nice if you have got good sound board enginer/recording enginer doing the recording right in the first place. When you usaly buy a recording from a live recording, check out the qualty and some of the bootleg stuff I used come across when lived in Albany, NY...was sometimes total garbage with realy bad White Noise(No Dolby). So, it has it pros and cons I have to say about sound recording. I should know because do live sound recording, sound board enginering and recording enginering as part of my bussines that dose that.

I have no idea why I'm even on all of these call lists that are on Robo-Dial by A.I.  One is a female voice and the other is a male voice and all they did was change the name that they give you.  I did get put through to a few live people to try to ask them to remove me from their list, but they, the telemarketer, hung up on me.   It's like I'm living "Telemarketers Revenge" for all the years of people handing up on them.   I always spoke with the telemarketer and then wished them a good day before hanging up.  And this is what I get for all of my decades of kindness.  I don't think I deserve this, but the World has lost a lot of the niceties that it used to have when I was growing up.  And no...COVID did not cause this.  I'm also getting tired of that excuse.  Its been 6 years!  People felt they were given the Green Light to be anti-social and rude to your face and now it is part of society just like everything else Mainstream adopts and considers it a cultural add-on.   I just hope I can survive this onslaught of calls blowing up my phone until it dies down.  Else, I will place a block on my number and only allow calls from family, friends and medical associated with my job.

This is crazy.   I had to mute my phone because I am getting 50+ calls a day regarding Life Insurance, Medical Insurance, Burial Benefits, a Senior Food Expense Card, a Senior Social Security monthly reimbursement benefit, etc., and I don't qualify for any of it.  I don't even meet the age requirement.   At current, I have 53 missed calls and 38 of them were from yesterday.
