Poem: Hedonists

[Hellheart]

I'm a perfectionist; this has gone through many many revisions, and there are still a couple sticking points - half-rhymes and it kind of rambles, although it's the best arrangement I can get.

But I think it's my best...most of the rest is more personal, but if people like this, I can always post a couple of those too.

Rivers of misery flow

Bathed in a neon glow

A glitz and glamour show

Seeking out the most chic low

We ignore our duties

Claim abnormalities

There's nothing you should fear

As long as you're right here

When we cause a lot of grief

And then realize it were we

Our stay becomes very brief

Nothing's worth not being free

If your life is full of fun

Then you've obviously won

I pity those who resist

Lives gripped in an iron fist

Just a puppet night and day

"You should get a life" they say

We call this hypocrisy...

We're the ones with lives, you see

Disguise your fears

Cover the tears

Impress your peers

Malign the queers

Smoke away your worry

Drink away your strain

Fuck away your fallacy

Bleed away your pain

Ignore the shattered lives

Ignore the wasted times

Ignore the dreams deferred

Ignore the screams you've heard

And then you've won...
