FarrIL Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 So, I wasnt home all day today. Instead, I was with my mom, stepdad, mom and sister Jeri, celebrating a late Easter with my grandparents. Also, my aunt and uncle were there, as were Allison and Mike. AND my stepbrother John (( the one who went to Iraq, who happens to be home safely now )). Anywho, my grandmother pulled me aside earlier during the visit and asked me if I could get into a class for the spring semester. I told her that I'd rather be working. Then she adds in that if I could get into one class (( just one, nothing more )), she and my grandpa would pay for the expenses. I nearly knocked her over when I went to hug her. This means it'll be one less class I'll have to worry about later. AND, with only taking one class, I can still focus on getting a second job to save money to get my arse out of Mid-Michigan (( um, Heritage Tattoo anyone?? )) So, I'm actually quite shocked, pleased, happy, surprised........ Yeah..... GLEE!!
The Rod Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 glad to hear that FarrIL, that'll bring you one step closer to completing your future goals... and I'd have to agree that mid-michigan is one of the most boring places on earth... well, aside from Iowa. Damn, does that state ever suck...

sass_in_the_pants Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 Some free college??!!?! That's awesome! And, I don't know anything about your college plans, where you want to go, what you want to study, BUT, having done the whole work + school + work gig, just let me say this - make sure that whatever class you take is easily transferrable to wherever you plan to go and alot of schools offer at least some of their classes through Ye Olde Internet, and that will save on some gas $, so you might want to think about that. Good luck and what great news!!
Homicidalheathen Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 Gotta love grandmas.......all that wisdom pays off. They know what is important.
