Dropped Chris off at the airport a little after 5:00.

Unfortunately, I came down with a massive headcold overnight, so I wasn't able to do more than take him to the airport. But at least I was able to swing him by my place and introduce him to Jon and the Furbrood. He now has the dubious distinction of being the only DGNer to have actually met my entire family (save the shy kitties who don't like strangers).

I'm glad we got to meet him, and look forward to a return visit.

By the way, I asked him what he experienced here that he doesn't have back home that was particularly memorable. His response? "Mount Dew". :grin

I went one further and stopped off at 7-Eleven and got him a Mt. Dew Slurpee.

I believe he left in a state of high fructose corn syrup bliss. :grin

Oh yes, I have. I have assured him future shipments of Mountain Dew. :happy:

Sitting at work and I get a text from him "You didn't tell me they made Mountain Dew Slurpees!". Alas, I can't ship a slurpee ... i can however ship a case of Mountain Dew. :grin

No. He can come here and you can come, too. Of course, I'm coming back to Detroit. It's a given. Maybe one day we can arrange to come at the same time, but I'll be back nonetheless.

      About to head up to Roseville to return this rental and pick up my truck from the auto shop.  It is supposedly sporting a newly fabricated frame rail...I don't think they are referred to as "chassis" anymore as I see the confusion in shop owner's eyes when they ask me if I'm looking for "body work?".   But I do find it interesting that I told the owner that I worked direct with OEM parts and yet he still wrote me up an invoice with overpriced OEM parts from companies I used to host at the place I used to work for.  With that said, I'm expecting a stellar job for the amount I paid.   ...else, there will be some talk negotiations.

      ~~~~~ Definitely wishing you luck.  Do enjoy yourselves.   But I have to admit, the first thing that came to mind was does roadside assistance reach the desert? 😬
      ~~~~~ Yeah, it's like something happened to my metabolism this past Winter and when I came out of hibernation, that AARP Join Request started looking like something to check into.

      This 👆 definitely goes with what I said in my other post - getting old sucks. Seems like *everything* takes longer and takes more energy out of me than it used to. Really need to work on my diet and exercise, I've found the older I get, the more important those things have really become...
