Okay, bring on the Canadians.

Actually.. no.... The people in question are of Arab decent. The article doesn't bring that up.. just calls them Canadians...

Correction sir... They had Arab names. That doesn't necessarily make them of Arab decent. Many people do that when they convert to Islam.

I was mostly poking fun at the fact that Canadians are always thought of as peaceful types. Except during a hockey game. =)

Trinidad.... Egypt... Somalia... I soppose that they are not all of Arab decent.

OK. I didn't read beyond the original article.

I;ve been reading about it all weekend.

Yah I heard about this. Glad they got them BEFORE they blew something up.

KUDOS to Canada for neutralizing a major threat before it happens and without spinning it to turn it into some international "Terror-related" power play (no hockey pun intended).

When was the last time the US actually intercepted something like that?

Lets see...

Here are few we know about... there are more.

2002 - Second wave of planes that was to hit LA

2001 - The Shoe Bomber

Posted

Hadn't both of those circumstances already done damage, though?

Yes. The burning shoe stunk like hell and forced everyone to plug their nose. :laughing :fear :wink

The shoe bomb failed to actually explode... so no damamge.

as for the LA attack... have you heard about any passanger planes hitting buildings in LA?

To Beau: =P

To Dark: You're the one who said "second wave."

To Dark: You're the one who said "second wave."

His implication being that the second wave never got there...

I don't recall anything about LA. Got any links to related info/stories Mark?

As for Richard Reid... We didn't get him until his "bomb" failed... so we didn't really intercept him, did we?

People dont really hear much about attacks that we have stopped. The major news media doesn;t even really cover them... no one died... not sensational enough for ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox or CNN....

i DONT think canadians are harmless---one of the fucking kunuks held a knife to my boyfriend and stole 300$ from him!!

The_Dark is right, no one cares if they stop it. The media only wants too see death and blood shed when it comes to Terror Attacks. Which is a complete shame, since people should be happy that the US government is doing it's job stopping people from causing harm to other.

Anywho, Lets just hope we all see more stories of people stopping people from blowing shit up rather then people actually blowing shit up >.<

Ciao- Jake

My parents are from Montreal. They raised me and my two brothers. I know better then to think Canadians are harmless. :laughing

I'm thinking I'm going to be moving to AZ, soon! Can't wait! I friggin' love it here! The heat doesn't bother me at all and the best part? NO SNOW!!! (S.N.O.W. - Shit  No One Wants)   Been staying in Bullhead City where the kids and grandkids live. Next, we're going to the wife's cousin's which is a ways North of Kingman, in the middle of nowhere, where we actually plan to move.   I really like Bullhead. It's a nice little town. Not overcrowded like Colorado Springs has become, at all. Very light traffic, reasonable prices on everything, low taxes, etc. The river offers a lot to do, with a lot of beaches and campgrounds all around it.   But yeah even though we've been over 110º-115º F just about every day,  I can handle it!  What I can't handle anymore, is snow and being cold. Just tired of it. Give me the desert over a blizzard any day!

Nope, we wasn't doing anything. I didn't want to go by myself.  I ended up doing karaoke here. It would of been a perfect day to go, though.
