of course it is scary! you have no idea what is going to happen. and just like rayne, i had both ways too. so first time in i had an emergency c-section after i was already dialated to 8 and been in labor for many hours. then... i get the c-section. which i honestly hated! BUT anyone else i know that has had one didn't have it as bad as me. they all said it was very easy for them and recovered very well and quickly.

soooo next time around (and... time after that...) i had a v-bac (vaginal birth after c-section) so i was scared all over again, not knowing what to expect. and it was the same as the first time - the contractions were worse than anything else. but... i got drugged! and it was SO much better! i actually fell asleep and they woke me up because i was in labor and they were telling me i needed to get ready to push. the nurse said to me "honey, listen to me and push when i tell you. if you listen to me it will make a difference in a 20 minute labor and a 2 hour labor." so i listened and i pushed and about 20-23 minutes later i had my baby!

THEN the last time... the dr was not in the room yet and they told me i could not push. i literally was holding the baby IN. i had to squeeze so she would NOT come out!! it was awful cuz she was about ready to just pop right out. literally! FINALLY the dr came in and was like wow you are ready! i said yes i have been! she said push then and i pushed twice and she was out.

ok not saying it will be THAT easy for you or everyone but... if you listen to the nurses and let them help you it makes it so much better and easier on you!

and talking to some mommies helps too.

So you got drugged huh? Did you go with an Epidural? Either of you I should say? We were just talking about this today and Im not sure its right for me, though .... take in mind when I feel the pain Ill probalby scream at them to give it to me ..give anything to me. Half the reason is I feel like I need my mommy, but that is not an option =( So i find no comfort, Im scared of everything involving the birth .. drugs .. getting cut, something going terribly wrong. It can be so stressful ... I just want our son to be healthy .. I dont care how much pain I have to go through, or how long it is .. just as long as he is alive, breathing and healthy.. its so scary to go into this knowing there is a chance (a small chance) that something can go terribly wrong .. and all these months of taking care of myself, eatting right, taking walks .. not smoking/drinking, coming to love the son that is in my tummy my all be smashed because of natural selection. :cry

Ok Im done being emo for the night .. sorry I had to get that out...

That was pretty much my third. Except he was a boy. From first contraction to last was 2 hours. He went very quick. Post-term induction. 42 weeks 3 days.

First was a post-term induction. 44 weeks 2 days. 6 hours of labour. Problems at birth, the cord was wrapped around her neck three times. She wasn't breathing when she was born. They had to wisk her away to NICU doing CPR in the hallway. She was 7 hours old before I got to see her.

Second was another post-term induction (I've had LOTS of Pitocin :confused ) 41 weeks 3 days. 23 hours 45 minutes long. 5 hours stuck at 8 cm before the geniuses thought to do an ultrasound and figure out her head was cocked crooked, ear first. A couple movements and all was fine and she was born about 15 minutes after that. No pain meds ... omg I switched hospitals after that.

Third is listed first, he was the easiest, by far.

Fourth ... was an emergency c-section at 34 weeks. At 34 weeks he was 8 lbs. 6 oz and absolutely perfect. I was scared, I'd never had any kind of pain meds before, the spinal scared me. But all was fine and I healed nicely. I was surprised how easy the recovery actually was and how tiny the scar is (only about 3 inches ... if that).

I was scared and nervous all four times ... I know where your coming from.

Not with my first three and I had Pitocin with all three of them.

I had a Spinal with Elijah (my fourth - csection, no choice).

yeah first time was spinal, which scared me to have but it was fine.

had an epidural with the last 2.

and i forgot to mention for the last two i was induced. and that can bring on labor fast and hard! it did for me at least.

This 👆 definitely goes with what I said in my other post - getting old sucks. Seems like *everything* takes longer and takes more energy out of me than it used to. Really need to work on my diet and exercise, I've found the older I get, the more important those things have really become...

Well we were supposed to leave last night, but life has a way of making plans for you. I'm about to get up and get ready to go on our vacation. Had and still have a lot to do.  Not easy to just up and leave a ranch with a lot of animals and things that need taken care of. We even have people here to watch and tend things while we're gone, but still.   I had to change the radiator in my car before we leave - got that done last night. Took a lot more out of me than I thought it would, so by the time I finished I had little energy for anything else. Today I just have a couple more quick things to do on the car, like cleaning it and packing stuff. Couple of minor things to do around the ranch today, as well.   I figure we should be on the road this evening sometime. I'm looking forward to it. We're going to see the wife's side of the family, people I actually like,  in Vegas and AZ. Should only be gone for a few days, maybe a week. Going to the Grand Canyon and Lake Mead and all kinds of stuff in between, so I'm pretty stoked. I LOVE the Southwest.   Wish me luck that my car survives the desert! (Hence new radiator) 🤠👍

Sometimes sleep can be a scary thing.  I passed out so hard at 4:54pm today.  Yesterday wiped me out with rentals, appointments and helping a lost dog get back home.  Fortunately, I found him on Facebook and contacted the owners and he was picked up before nightfall.  But I think I totally overdid it and paid for it today in the middle of handling business.  Thankfully it was some work at home stuff.   I definitely do not like being that kind of tired.  It's like the World could end and I'd wake up afterwards trying to find out what happened.
