well, in high school, i "broke up" with a girl i'd been seeing for a few months (we never actually declared officially we were going out) by kind of not calling her - for a few months. wasn't intentional, i just had other things going on.

worst way i was "broken up with" was getting a phone call from the wife of the guy my ex had been sleeping with for a year. yeah, fun...

The worst way someone has ended things with me?

I'd have to say it was the guy who hung out with me for an entire evening with our entire group of friends after I returned from vacation. He asked for a massage (which was common for us to exchange) and then at the end of the night when I ask for a kiss goodbye, he tells me that he can only give me one on the cheek. When I ask why, he says it is because he got a girlfriend. A girlfriend who they had been talking about and I just hadn't put two and two together. SO all of our friends thought I was being desperate and trying to get him back that night because they were under the impression that he had told me about the girl.

Second, she was a pizza-faced chick with Brooke Shields eyebrows and an overbite that I had gone to high school with, and when I asked why he would actually go out with her and not me, he says that he's "mentally and spiritually attracted" to me, but not physically. Which is bullshit since half the time we spent together was spent laughing at Ed, Edd, and Eddy and messing around.

I was so bitter after this episode that a) I scared the shit out of my one friend who was still there when I found out he had a girlfriend. I was so angry at his bullshit that I punched a hole dent in the wall of his apartment hallway. And b) I went lesbian for two months.

I had a similar episode. This guy I was dating went psycho on me and began to stalk me...threatening his life if I didn't come back. I told him I would remain a neutral part of his life and that he should seek help, but otherwise we were through. The guy ended up overturning his room and then slitting his wrists. This part is very disturbing to me still..but he took the blood from his "incident" and wrote my name on the bathroom mirror with it. Needless to say the guy was committed, and his mother called me to tell me I was a BITCH for breaking up with her son and that it was MY FAULT he almost died. That is when I made the firm decision to stop dating psychos and to start dating men with huge egos that cheat on me. lol

My first boyfriend just stopped calling me and returning my calls. I was kind of pissed for a couple days, but whatever, we were only together a little over a month.

Two months later he called me and said that he couldn't stop thinking about me, and he had missed me so much. I was like "Ok, I'm not the one who blew you off." He continued calling me, telling me that he loved me, and that he wanted to marry me someday and have kids. I told him I didn't want to be anything other than friends, but I guess I wasn't firm enough, because he somehow got it in his head that we were back together. Then one night he called me, either drunk or high, and was saying all kinds of crazy stuff that didn't make sense. I told him to stop talking like that or don't ever call me again. He got pissed, threatened to come over, and when I told him no he hung up. I was scared he really was going to come over because I'd never known him to act like that.

Well, almost a year later he called me out of the blue, acting like nothing had happened and saying we were back together. I said "look, we have to talk." Then he hung up the phone. I couldn't even call him back, I didn't have his new number. So I sent him an email that said I didn't think we were together in the first place, but if he thought we were, we weren't anymore.

So if you call that a break up, then, yeah, I broke up with him over email. Though, I think an email is still better than just not contacting the person at all.

I can't say that's the worst break up I've ever had, but definitely the weirdest.

I had a girl break up with me via E-Mail and I was hurt and pissed at first but eventually we became friends....well whenever she found herself without a boyfriend at least

But honestly the WORST is when the other person just stops talking to you. This one time I had a girlfriend of a little over a month not answer her phone or call me back. It took me a week to get concerned enough about her that I walked from Fraser to Grose Point, until then I was just convincing myself that their was a perfectly good reason that I could not get in contact with her. Sadly enough when I got to her house I found that her ex and her were humping......It was a long walk home.

However I did learn a good lesson that day. You need money to support a family and muscles to be attractive. Their is no point dating a hot chick with money if you live in a friends basement, work at McDonalds and give all of your money to the court system. Not having a car is also a deal breaker.

It was on that day that a made a few vows to myself and I am happy to say that I have not only cleaned my criminal record but served five years in the military and will be graduating with my BSCJ in November. After that it will be off to the FBI Academy or the militaries OCS (Officer Candidate School)

I will have money and the hot chick, once I find a way to beat my super high metabolism so I don’t have the weight of a girl. Hummm......I wonder if that was TMI?

I think the worst and most impersonal way to break up with someone is through a text message. Not so good.

Otherwise... if you've only met for coffee or a quick drink, nothing came of it... email is good.

If you've gone out a couple times and maybe got a little somethin' out of it... ya know... but no "serious" feelings... a call is alright.

If you've been seeing the person for a while and there may be some feelings involved ... a nice public place IN PERSON should do the trick.

I just think that when you're gonna break up with someone you should think "how would I feel if"

Well I got dumped the day after Thanksgiving on our anniversary by my ex.

He did it over MySpace then basically tore me to shreds when I called him to ask what his reasoning was.

We had just spent the day/night at my cousin's house for Thanksgiving and I had to be put in the hospital on my way home from there because of my heart problems. He had been crying all night over it when somewhere he decided to leave me.

Another guy said he never really cared because I was unwanted to the world and he had been leading me on.

Another guy dated me as a joke to make a fool of me.

As far as how I've dumped anyone:

As far as me breaking up with someone, the worst I can think of atm is when I just straight up ignored the guy till he got the point. Didn't answer my phone, never returned calls, didn't answer the door (and when someone else did I'd tell them to tell him I wasn't there). What's funny is almost a year later he saw me on the streets with my current bf and he was like "WTF your cheating on me??" Almost a YEAR had past and he still wasn't getting it....some ppl...well needless to say I had to tell him that I had lost intreast a long time ago...guess I at least owed him that much.

I came home from a month-long long tour in Indianapolis (from whence I religiously sent him at least half of my take for each week) to find my cats starving, and the place we had rented empty and trashed.
