Crazed Vampyress Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 Mine is by far Alice in Wonderland (Alice Through the Looking Glass) ive seen every version i could get my hands on. i absolutely love the 1985 made for tv movie which took so much right out of the books. they recited the poems to music and have every 80's star available playing a role from scott baio to sammy davis jr. despite the 80's campyness of it, its still quite good. but its just one of the many many versions of alice in wonderland that has been taken off the written page and put on screen. I love the story. its NOT the innocent children's story those who've seen the disneyfied version of it would think. i just adore how dark it really is. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good story.

pomba gira Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 The Sandman, with Tanith Lee's Tales From the Flat Earth series a close second. Both affected me on a really deep level. Oh yeah, can't forget The Books of the New Sun by Gene Wolfe. CV, what edition are those illustrations from? I actually like 'em better than the Tenniel ones. Ah, Snow Crash... kick ass book. The only time I've ever shrieked aloud from excitement while reading was the climactic scene in Snow Crash. The Diamond Age is even better in some ways.
SuZQZ Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 I can not list a favorite because so many have touched me or gripped me. The best I can do is list those that I have re-read the most: LOTR Hitchhiker's Guide series Harry Potter series Mists of Avalon
