What Is Wrong With People

Offensive.. maybe, but a valid opinion that she is allowed to have even if it's unpopular.

Sorry yeah wasn't trying to be offensive, but I was coming from more of an environmental stand point because having many many people on the earth is beginning to put a strain on our resources/speeding up global warming, didn't mean to make anyone mad or anything was just supporting Candy's post and adding something to it.

And what I ment by mine was there are ALOT of people out there that are unfit parents. Just that flat out and simple.

If you can't take care of your child or children, because your life is far more important. Then you shouldn't have bred in the first place. (ie this thread topic in the first place)

If you are already in an abusive relationship, well that's just a dead set sign.

If you know that you can't afford anything for them, and let alone yourself, then you shouldn't have bred.

What people don't realize that babies are not just accessories like your car or your earings. You just can't leave them anywhere and expect someone else to take care of them.

(Personally, I don't feel like I have a reason to back myself up, but I do hate it when people take what I say and get it all mixed up. I don't like to pick fights, so that's why I added on.)

Oh no no, I didn't mix your part of the post up, I was just saying that I was agreeing with you and adding something on to it, just so you know.

Oh I know.

I understand. I not mad at you.

Yes.... but it is good to know your audience as well...

That is not how you stated it.

Not at all really. You said nothing about over-population.

Re-read your statement. You said people have too many kids per family.

I have four.

I find that statement to be extremely rude ... and I still do.

I agree with you 100%.

But more importantly, thanks for explaining your opinion.

I have to agree with Candy's "License to have kids" and you have to apply and take a class and stuff.

I think women should be on mandatory sterility till they pass the class and interviews for those of us not good at test taking.

Although then you're walking that fine line that the gov't walks when they tell women that they may take away our abortion rights.. *shivers* It's SO hard to decide what to control and what not to control.

I was watching Battlestar Galactica (yes, i'm a nerd, can we move on now?)

The president had to face the fact that if they allowed women to have abortions and stuff, they will be facing extinction. So against her best wishes, she made it illegal (even though she was always for woman's rights, sometimes you have to make the tough decisions).

Hmm.. maybe a license to have sex.. then we'd all have no excuse to be bad at it..heheh

Reminds me of that Monty Python: Meaning of Life movie..*giggles*

Yes.... but it is good to know your audience as well...

Sure you wouldn't go to a clan meeting and speak about equality for Black people, however this is an open forum where differing opinions are welcomed and encouraged. If we start to feel afraid to speak our opinions because we might offend some one, the site would get real boring real fast.

What makes a "good" parent though? I mean yes I understand common sense is DEFINITALY needed and seems to definitaly be lacking in many cases...however what if the government said you must have this amount of money to have a kid...or this big of a house...or this kind of car...or your book I.Q. must be off the charts even if you have more common sense than all the rest?

My point...even if we did have one it wouldn't solve anything...if we made all the rules and regulations in the world it would still have less than desirable results...people would still complain and they would still be looking for answers...

my biggest problem is that people don't take responsibility...they make kids and when they tire of them think they can dump them off, the truth is you can't...the truth is people fear responsiblity I think...they fear being wrong...especially when it comes to their own kids...

Hmmm ding ding ding you is correct. Good job  People said some of the things you did in this thread, but yours nicely sums up those points along with other very good valid points.

roflmao...well that's what I get for being very opinionated and wanting to be a writer :p It's always nice to hear my writing is not only possibly influentual but is taken as a valid opinion and understandable as well :) so thank you...

Perhaps you can take comfort in the fact that such an event is news. For every bad parent, there are innumerable good ones.

I do as a matter of fact take great comfort in that myself. I meet SO many people who are great parents, I have to remind myself that people like this are the exception and not the rule.

No prob, I'm not afraid to give credit to good posts when it's due. I'm very opinionated and wanting to be a writer, but I write something and people usually are like "CHER...who says that? You're horrible!" leaving me like "FUCKKK...wtf did I do now?" so you're definately farther than me.

Actually, I never really thought of it like that not sure why, I'm not going to lie I've fallen into the wrong crowd before and have associated with some less than decent people...with children. I don't wanna say some of the stuff I've seen. Personally, that's probably one of the good reasons I have such a dismal outlook on kids in general. I always have to remind myself that those people are a small percentage, there's a bigger number of better parents elsewhere, that's why when I read the news I always keep in mind that it was one case somewhere. People like my Gramma though, one shooting happens in Detroit and all of a sudden according to her if you cross 8 Mile even once you'll be shot on site. So uhmm good parents...keep making good babies and raising them correctly so that you don't piss off us OR your children

Great job you took the words right out of my mouth ! We have to teach our kids and nephews or nieces the right values, so the media doesn't teach them I.E. the TV or video games. Watch their friends for signs of bad behavior and language as well. My son who's 15 his friend has me on her my space as her hero because I take a large part in Lee's life. I took him to see the Bad boys of rock this summer: Buck Cherry Papa Roach and Hinder. :bow
