Hellion Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 This was very interesting to read http://www.blender.com/guide/articles.aspx?id=786
Pandora Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 Totally disagree with "“The Sounds of Silence” 1965. That song was written in response to JFK's assassination, capturing the country being full-on stunned. Love that song. AND - it was written when Simon was a senior in high school. That's talent to me.

GothicRavenGoddess (3) Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 some of those songs I actually knew, and liked.. wont say what, but i was kinda saddened by some of the choices... and others... lets just say that some of those weren't close enough to #1! lol
Pandora Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 Same here, there are a few others I disagree with, but ripping on Wham was hilarious,LOL!!that band just plain sucked.IMO Yes, let's All rip on Wham!!! It's the right thing to do.
Fin Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 It is a travesty & an affront to music aficionados everywhere that no song by Rick Astley was included on this list.
wingdazrael Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 I can think of alot worse songs than some of what are on this list. Like that "I'm Proud to be an American" song. Ugh!
Morbid Side Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 We can add that stupid Gnarls Barkely (sp?) song Crazy to the list. Everytime I hear that I want to pull the roots out of my head. I know at least one other DGNer can agree.
Nienna Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 I liked some of those songs too! LOL And where was that sickening chochy 'Lips of an Angel" song?? That one makes me want to simultaneously break things and vomit.
Hellion Posted April 22, 2008 Author Posted April 22, 2008 I can think of alot worse songs than some of what are on this list. Like that "I'm Proud to be an American" song. Ugh! you got that right!!
Stymie Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 Blender>.> lol Doors>.> I know Doors have a few err songs... But NO fucking way it should be in top 50....
Homicidalheathen Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 Me too. I was just a wee kid when I would hear it on the radio......but it would stick in my head all day (in a good way) and really hit a note with me, just the melody not the words so much. Sky Rockets in flight I think is my all time most hated song. And my aunt likes it. Its about sex? Really? I could not tell. Never seen a rocket during before or after doing the deed. I can't get the list to come up But I hated wham then and still dont like George Micheals much. He turned out to be a loser perv. What right does he have to tell women what to do with their ovaries anyway hell isn't he gay? Totally disagree with "“The Sounds of Silence” 1965. That song was written in response to JFK's assassination, capturing the country being full-on stunned. Love that song. AND - it was written when Simon was a senior in high school. damagedangel Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 I'm not ashamed, I like the following out of those songs: 49, 48, 46, 44, 43, 41, 40, 37, 35, 33, 31, 29, 28, 24, 23, 22, 21, 19, 16, 14, 7, 5, 3 What can I say, I'm a sucker for crappy 80's music.
Guest GodfallenPromos Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 ok...wait ...stop....how in hell did "Winds of Change" from The Scorpions NOT make this list???
TygerLili Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 Ok, admittedly most of the songs listed here are a little cheesy, but that doesn't stop me from liking some of them. The 80s were cheesy, that's the fun of it. My list would have to include: Soulja Boi-Crank Dat(someone please beat me until I'm unconscious whenever it is played) MIMS-This is Why I'm Hot (never did figure out why he thinks he's hot) Fergie-Fergielicious(like yourself much?) Justin Timberlake-My Love(maybe some day puberty will kick in) Pretty much anything off American Idol(unoriginal, badly written pop, anyone?) I could go on, but I'll stop.
tanuki1985 Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 I agree with much of TygerLili's list. That "Solja Boy" makes me want to damage my own ears with a poisoned syringe to save myself the agony of having to hear that... person... attempt to create music. Some of those songs really aren't that bad. I would have liked to see more annoying songs, like "My Neck, My Back" by Khia or anything by Usher. Yeah, my top list would basically be rap and hip-hop. No offense if there are any rap fans out there, but I think growing up so close to hip-hop culture has majorly turned me off to that type of music. :S
sass_in_the_pants Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 And I don't know who sings it but there's this country song that's supposed to be all schmaltzey and sweet and romantic and it goes 'I'd like to check you for ticks' Um. Gross. Let me be very, very clear. Checking someone for ticks is in no way shape or form romantic. Not. Even. Close.
Pandora Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 Patrick Swayze - "shes like the wind" Oooh good one!
Kit Kat P Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 Don't forget to look at the date of the list, it's a bit old.
Hellion Posted April 28, 2008 Author Posted April 28, 2008 Don Jonson should have just stuck with Miami Vice, and stayed away from making any form of music.
Morbid Side Posted May 3, 2008 Posted May 3, 2008 Not sure if this was mentioned yet, but anything by David Hasselhoff. Plz stick to useless videos of drinking and puking K?
Head Wreck Posted May 5, 2008 Posted May 5, 2008 okay: 33: Aqua Barbie Girl. i beg to differ on that point. Saturday i got bored of my usual hop about and pickking off people randomly and then going to hide elsewhere i decided to be more overt. so stuck my MP3 player and specker on with barbie girl. cranked it right up and danced like "partyboy" from one end of the complex to the other where i literally pirouetted into the opfor HQ and shot EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM, using semi only and still dancing as i moved and fired. for that reason it is an ace song and one which has spawned my new rallying cry to "Come on barbie lets go party" 27. when i ran the DJ booth at the rock night i used to help run and organise, Europe's Final Countdown filled the floor with pissheads who found the cheesyness of it all a good laugh.
