Bush makes tasteless joke

From an article in The Telegraph:

The American leader, who has been condemned throughout his presidency for failing to tackle climate change, ended a private meeting with the words: "Goodbye from the world's biggest polluter."

He then punched the air while grinning widely, as the rest of those present including Gordon Brown and Nicolas Sarkozy looked on in shock.

Mr Bush, whose second and final term as President ends at the end of the year, then left the meeting at the Windsor Hotel in Hokkaido where the leaders of the world's richest nations had been discussing new targets to cut carbon emissions.

And some wonder why the world hates us......

I'd like to know what was said right before Bush made that statement.

That is a good question

I can only assume that was a failed gesture to make a funny and save face after a severe beating in the meeting about america's constant failure to clean up their pollution habbits.

Or maybe that really was bush saying, fuck you, i don't care what you say, we're america bitch kinda thing...

whatever the meaning behind it was.. it really points towards a reaction to a meeting that kept pointing america out as not being so environmentally friendly.

I have read though most of the G8 Summit press releases and summery documents. They don't support the idea that the US is the scourge of the Earth...

well we may not be the scurge of pollution, but we're deffinitely not one of the better countries when it comes to being environmentally concious.

Just in my own logic and opinion, it really looks like that they did give bush some criticizm a few times throughout the meeting over our pollution habbits.

and you know what, he still handled that better than Gordon brown handles most of his other international duties

I hate very little in the Universe...that fucker Bush is RIGHT UP THERE on my "short list"...

As much fun as that would be.......it wouldn't solve anything.

Though, if it happens let me know....I'm so there.

I think in the end the good he has done is going to out weight the bad he has done.

You are kidding right??? I mean right????

Right now I can see he has done something positive for Africa but.....

IMO

Good that the Administran has done = 6%

Neautral = 13%

Bad = 115% (see, he ruined education so much I can't even do the math!)
