Oh, I plan to do that. There's a goth/industrial night at a club in Osaka on the 14th of Sept and then one on the 16th in Nagoya. :-)

Yes. I'm not ignoring your pm btw, just want to take the time to answer properly, and I haven't had more than 2 minutes by the computer to answer it fully.

Every other month there is one on the 3rd Sat in Nagoya, so if you are there long enough there should be 2 near you. That's Stigmatic. Is the Osaka one Mechanical Necropolis? Should be good - I wish I could go. I am jealous. Every first Sunday of the month there is also a gothic lolita tea party in Osaka that's is cool if you are there then. Laid-back and not overly loud, but very good people and good food and good tea and good music played at reasonable volumes.

Other things worth paying attention to include the group Sakinohaka - they'll put on slightly fetish themed events sometimes that are truly excellent. They put on Hospital GoGo and the Emerald Frog cabaret. Also the group Vita Sex Alice puts on a lot of fetish events which are stranger, but can be fun. But I wouldn't personally have as much fun going to that one alone - I have gone alone, but only because I knew Rose and everyone would be there at some point.

A site that used to have a lot of good info about upcoming events is http://www.jgoth.com/category/upcoming-events-tours, but I think lately it hasn't been kept up, unfortunately. The best thing to do really to find events is just keep your eyes open. When you go to events or gothic stores, they usually have a ton of flyers around for other events. It's a good way to find things out. And talk to people at events. You'll be surprised how much English people speak. If you go to the Osaka event, if Rose is there, say hi to her for me (she's easy to spot - just look for the amazing Victorian couple). She doesn't speak English, but Yoko who is usually around does (she is the most amazingly gorgeous tiny goth goth girl ever). Guiggles, who is with Rose, speaks some, and if King is there, he is very very good (he is a very young (tho doesn't look it) very debonair fellow who always wears a top hat and carries a cane and wears very high heeled boots).

I still need to give some more general info, but no time now...but man I am jealous of you for going!!

I just got of the phone with Ally to check specifics of the event. I will be bringing my whips but once I see the space to see how much room I have will depend on what I can do. I'm also bringing my straight jacket as a back up plan. It's been years since I've been strapped into one of those so hopefully I can still do it.

This is my first show back with Chaos since I took a sabbatical for school a couple years ago so hopefully many of you can make it out to show your support. It'll be a lot of fun!

When will area promoters/planners finally realize that it's EPIC FAIL to hold events on a Saturday?

Any other day I would have been there, but as for this weekend? I'll be at DGN night at City Club with everyone else! Especially 'cause Boshy will be celebrating her birthday.

I dunno...that's a good amount of gas, and yeah it's pretty damn far coming from the Eastside. At least an extra $15 - $20 in gas and more than 30-45 minutes worth of drive time, definately NOT worth it. The only way I'd be fine with that is if it was Skinny Puppy or something .

Oh well...maybe the planners will think a little harder next year and have it NOT on a Saturday. Not even saying because of me, but I know for 100% your attendance rate would have drastically increased had this been held on Friday for example.

So for the future, a note to promoters: DO NOT SCHEDULE THINGS ON SATURDAYS! I don't care what the event, it's been proven time and time again that City Club will trump it, while diving people unhappily between the club and said event, and you're also crushing your chances at having a higher attendance. Just a bit of advice.

So fire whatever event planners planned it for Saturday and tell yer next ones to maybe actually research the goth/scene a little bit more next time.
