tanuki1985 Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 I want to hear the soundtrack to Mario Paint on the SNES at CC.
Rev.Reverence Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 MINE! Shameless self promotion; they said was the ticket. (edit for: code)
Joey Deadcat Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 What I would like to hear at city...the same thing I would like to hear at any goth bar....goth music, NOT F@CKING SYNTHPOP....But we know htat wont happen so yea I just dont go out to the bars much any more. There are a handful of deejays in Detroit who do spin realgoth/deathrock;unfortunately,they don't have regular nights. Miss the nights when Sardine Bar and The Labyrinth used to provide alternatives to what was going on at CC.
Destroit Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 I realize that they are probably not quite the right 'sound' for City Club, but I would really love to hear A Covenant of Thorns get a little play. Not a lot, just a little. I think it would also be nice to hear some Imperative Reaction and System Syn. And I'd like to see if I could dance to Shiny Toy Guns. Good choices, and btw, I dance to Shiny Toy Guns all the time. Their song Stripped would probably good for a goth club, imo, but goodness knows I also <3 Le Disko.
Destroit Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 The VAST MAJORITY of what gets played @ City Club are REQUESTS by the people who come out and right down what they want to hear. Our guests determine what gets played. Feel free to check out our playlists, which are published here and on our site just about every week. I think that an amazing night at CC is when a vast assortment of tunes are played, a sweet mix of old and new. You can always nicely ask our Dj's to spin a particular tune for you, if they have it they will usually play it. Our Dj's are all very professional and agreeable people who want you to have a GREAT night out with friends. Please do not YELL, or SWEAR @ our Dj's and expect to get what you want though, they are here for you to have fun - not to be screamed at. Also, if you are so drunk that you can barely shuffle to the request list and your song doesn't get played its prolly cause they could not read your DRUNKEN SCRIBBLE. I have seen those pages, they look like a kid gone wild with a pen and paper. You may want to get a less drunk friend to make the request for you, that way you have a better chance of hearing what you want. Our FRIDAY NIGHTS feature DJ Pleasure Kitten & DJ Void 6 Our SATURDAY NIGHTS feature DJ J-9 & DJ Jon Noble Come out to City Club and get your dance on ! ! ! ! ! ! You all heard the nightclub you guys, we need better patrons! DGNers with good musical taste UNITE (and I said with good musical taste keep in mind...sorry).
Shade Everdark Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 Good choices, and btw, I dance to Shiny Toy Guns all the time. Their song Stripped would probably good for a goth club, imo, but goodness knows I also <3 Le Disko. Last week I went to Club Noc Noc in Seattle. They played Le Disko. It worked.

Simon Bar Sinister Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 a true dancefloor classic! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ebeld5WLlW4...feature=related I'd prefer the original mix, but pretty much any mix I've ever heard would do nicely.
sinmantyx Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 Realicide - it would certainly confuse everyone! http://www.last.fm/music/Realicide/_/I+Wanted+to+Feel+Alive Oh yeah: and my shit would be hilarious: http://www.last.fm/music/Sinmantyx/_/Techno (More shameless self-promotion - but hey - why not?)

Simon Bar Sinister Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 dunno if they play it, since I only been once, but Rob Zombie, I can get my freak on to him "Living Dead Girl" shows up in the setlist from time to time. No "Supercharger Heaven", though.
