Guest greyhalo Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 target="_blank I LOVE Crime and the City Solution. I also LOVE These Immortal Souls--kinda related. Very dark music--unlike And One and the Benassi Brothers. "Wings of Desire" is my favorite Wim Wenders movie!
StormKnight (1) Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 Now when I talk old school, I mean *OLD* school. No remixes. "Veteran of the Psychic Wars," which got me into the darker side, I realize is a bit slow to dance to. And just for fun: Origa-Rise (Opening for Ghost in the Shell: SAC: 2nd Gig) Origa-Inner Universe (Opening for SAC) Voltaire-When You're Evil Voltaire-Brains A lot of this I have seen pulled off, and pulled off well, across the country, From DC Nation, to Jezabel's Joint in San Francisco, to the Dungeon in Honolulu, to Phoenix.

Very dark music--unlike And One and the Benassi Brothers. "Wings of Desire" is my favorite Wim Wenders movie! Used to watch this movie a lot. Still one of my favorites. And, to me, the scenes w/ Crime & The City Solution and Nick Cave were how a goth nite/club should've been.

Joey Deadcat Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 Least someone could do is throw on some old Shock Therapy!
Guest greyhalo Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 Least someone could do is throw on some old Shock Therapy! "Hate is Just a 4 Letter Word"=great song
StormKnight (1) Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 You mean, no bouncy kids with glowsticks? I know, the shock, the shock...
Joey Deadcat Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 "Hate is Just a 4 Letter Word"=great song Only twice have I heard it played at a club - once Tim Tiki played it for me @ The Chamber and the other time I played it @ Deadline. My youngest aunt used to date Itchy back in 84/85. He used to also dj on same Farmington Hills radio station.
DJ Saint Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 Least someone could do is throw on some old Shock Therapy! Hey did you hear Itchy (from Shock Therapy) recently turned up dead in a field in South West Detroit? No fooling.
Guest greyhalo Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 Hey did you hear Itchy (from Shock Therapy) recently turned up dead in a field in South West Detroit? No fooling. Crazy. I did not know that. I used to love Shock Therapy in middle school and high school.
eleven Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 You mean, no bouncy kids with glowsticks? ....well then that kinda hurts.... Excuse me that I have a lot of energy and yea i am bouncy.....but since i am i do believe one of the few at the club i do take offense to that statement. Excuse me that i go to the club, to have fun. SO...in light(lol light) of that i tend to be happy and bouncy and glowsticky. I thought of all places.....
Guest greyhalo Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 ....well then that kinda hurts.... I was joking, eleven. The whole goth club scene has changed so much over the years. You have to pardon some of us old-schoolers who went to CC like 15+ years ago.
Joey Deadcat Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 Shit, damn shame about Itchy. Surprised I didn't hear about this couple of weeks back. Thought folks I know would've posted something. And it was a month after my woman's passing!

And it was a month after my woman's passing! There's an article about it on their web site: http://www.shock-web.de/ Also, here's an article in the "Metro Times": http://www.metrotimes.com/blog/musicblahg.asp?perm=546
DJ Saint Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 Shit, damn shame about Itchy. Surprised I didn't hear about this couple of weeks back. Thought folks I know would've posted something. And it was a month after my woman's passing! Yeah I found out about it the weekend it happened, but didn't want to post anything to the bands Myspace site or anything. Somehow being the bearer of that bit of bad news didn't seem right... My old band mates (Black Ocean Drowning) friend works at the Wayne County Morgue. The guy who works at the morgue used to be in a band called Cum Dumpster, who associated with Shock Therapy. An unidentified body had come in that weekend, but the morgue worker instantly recognized him as Itchy. Very sad as I knew Itchy. He helped produce the first Black Ocean Drowning CD and it was because of him that the band got signed to Dossier Records out of Germany. The last time I saw him was at MotorPop 3 in Detroit. He was the most alert and aware I'd ever seen him, excited to be out of jail and back to making music. His big plan was to get back to Germany to live. We spoke and when he learned of my involvement with Darque Productions, we were geared up to work with him on a comeback show. He was a mad genius really. Gifted musician and artist, but he had his inner demons as well. He hated himself and life quite a bit. Sorry to see him go, but he's finally at peace.

Yeah, Itchy seemed to be a conflicted person internally. Don't think he ever got the appreciation he deserved here in Detroit as he did in Europe. One Detroit muscian had stories of Itchy and my aunt from when they were an item long ago. Still remember when he'd spray-painted on the sidewalk in front of my grandmother's house "Itchy loves ?"
Dollardave Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 Backstreet boys awwwwww yea You're fucking joking me I hope. Anyways my link is for "I Dont Love You Anymore" - Wolfsheim http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-3dCQTJ0_E $$

I bought their first EP when I was in 8th grade and played it over and over again. What a great band...
Joey Deadcat Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Now I know deathrock is like kryptonite to City Clubbers and the dj's there but it would be nice if they could at least play Cinema Strange once in awhile.
Scales Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 When I make it up there again, M4 (Part II) by Faunts, I like blasting it at night from my car. The music video doesn't do the 8 min song justice, because it has to cut it down, but I'm posting the video just because it's still pretty B.A. target="_blank ^ NSFW
