Fin Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 I am quite sad Detroit has yet another reason to be embarrassed. It really sets us back in terms of regional/national credibility. :(
SaGa Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 we have been set back already with our crime rate, our inner city suburbs are falling apart left and right, some really good looking old homes are being redone, right next to the ones that are ash.
Guest GodfallenPromos Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 so did anyone watch the speech from the soon to be in-term mayor, Ken Cockrel Jr.? not the prettiest face to look at....but I've vote for him if he ran....seems like a good guy with a decent head on his shoulders...though I will be looking into his background.

aequorea Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 i heard about this in the waiting room at the doctor's office. i only caught the tail end of it, so i asked the only other guy in the waiting room, a big black guy who looked like he should be a football player, "what's going on?" he replied, "with the mayor?" then he shook his head and said, mournfully, "that embarrassing bastard." that was all i got, but it still makes me laugh when i think of it. i want a bumper sticker that says: Kwame Kilpatrick: That Embarassing Bastard
detroitrequiem Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 I was teaching one of my students martial arts in Ann Arbor. This guy, a current cop for Washtenaw county used to work for Detoit Police dept. He was telling me you have no idea how corrupt the police dept all the way up to the mayorcould be. He said drug dealers would tip them off in neighborhoods to look the other way. And whatever happened to the stripper at his house? Was she ever found? This guys a mole on the ass of society. have a happy day!
