My Home Improvement suggestion thread

I decided to start a thread where I could get some input on paint colors, and feedback regarding ideas I have drawn up. I'll start by posting my tilework photo here as I deleted it from the other thread. The floor I replaced was the brown shag carpeting you see on the stairs. Its now replaced with tile which needs to be finished with some specially cut tiles and then grouted. What I need are suggestions on colors. You can take the photo and mess with colors on photoshop if you are bored and send them to me or post them on here. Yes, YOU can have a hand on how my house looks. Keep in mind I am going for a more modern look, so some pastel colors are good as well as some odd flat colored paints.

Here is another near future project before I paint. Tearing out the wall in this bedroom to make it an archway so you can see into the foyer and family room. The closet will also be filled in with a wall and the other side of it knocked out to make the closet for the foyer. Call it a foyer/broom closet. The room is going to become my office with hardwood floors. I have included a current photo of the room and the other side where the foyer is, and a plans photo. The opening in the drawn plans is the archway into the foyer.

And lastly for now, the family room which is the current living room. I took the photo from the dining room and the drawn plans are from the living/family room so you can just flip the thought on where everything is positioned. The current opening you see will be all the way to the right and the current opening will be closed off by a wall. That wall will include a built-in bookcase and a wall of water I call it. Just something I can pickup and install within the wall. My little piece of peace call it.

I was thinking that before too with the burnt orange maybe even with the sponge throughout the paint for an artist style look. When and if I do a paint party, I may just have it a non-alcholic adventure because with drunk people, paint can get out of hand and instead on other body parts or places in the house. I just can't imagine butt prints mashed up in the paint on my walls. Thats not very saavy.

Well, I finally busted out the wall in the bedroom/future office and am pleased with the view of it so far. The photo I took from the living room looks a little awkward yet as I have only generally cut the wall out and not shored it up yet. So far so good.

Sorry man, but this is a bi-level. There is only a lower floor and an upper floor lol. And if any pole is going up, it will be a stripper pole in the future living room :D

You guys are all SO GOTH lol. I have to think about the future if things don't end up working out with owning the house. So I need to have it looking modern and not deathly if I am to attract potential buyers. My office is going to include many things to make it feel a darkened home, but the rest of the house will look more normal and actually very upbeat.

Here is how the paint turned out. Its called Rustic Bronze and it obviously needs a second coat, but I wanted to get the majority of the area covered so I could see how it turned out. It seems a bit orangish but that is supposed to be the point, but it may change in tint once I replace the chandelier. The current one has a bronzy tint due to the glass. The trim used to be a dark wood color, but I painted it semi gloss white. I think these colors will work? Rev? What do you think?

I like the cutout. You could do a bright color on one wall in here and then do a lighter, neutral (but complimentary color on the other walls)

I like the paint. The door looks out of place though. A color similar to the wood on the staircase would look nice I think. Or, if you sponged another color over the color you did on the wall, it might blend more and the door wouldn't stand out as much:
